I've just watched his press conference.

Most people I've been listening to and reading here on Lit are of the opinion that Moslems everywhere must be re-assured that they are not the target. That they have nothing to fear.

And what does Bush do.

Singles out a special mention for Jews everywhere, not exactly the best of friends with Moslems, on the occasion of their New Year.

For all the diplomatic disasters I've ever come across he has to be the biggest.

Why did he have to say it?

Why can't he just let it go for the moment? He must know, or maybe he is basically a stupid man, that Moslems would read into his words that he is still siding with their enemies at a time when he is preparing to bomb, maybe to destruction, a Moslem state.

It was not only his words that shook me but the whole body language. It was that of a man saying "Fuck You".

I really am giving up on him...

PP dude

You're back on your track, old boy.

I fart in your general direction.

Damn PP, we can'T say happy new year? Good think he didn't mention the Bombay to London subway that he is going to fund.

I have the solution

...to political incorrectness.

Don't nobody say shit to nobody about nuthin.

Not when you're making plans to bomb some of Israel's enemies out of existence you can't.

It doesn't send the Moslems the most encouraging message in the world does it?

I was starting to think Bush was beginning to show some character and maturity. Now he's only made me just as angry as when he was first elected.

And the other thing he said has also worried members of the new alliance. That bin Laden should be taken "dead or alive". I mean is ythe man a total fruitcake or does his mouth start running before his brain is fully engaged...

I haven't heard anything that sounds like a plan yet.

I haven't heard ANY encouraging messages yet.

He's under a little pressure right now, do you think he can remember everything his handlers told him?

And the other thing he said has also worried members of the new alliance. That bin Laden should be taken "dead or alive". I mean is ythe man a total fruitcake or does his mouth start running before his brain is fully engaged...

I haven't heard his mouth run yet either. pee-pee man, do you think you can hold the sarcasm until he actually fucks up? In the meantime, I'd rather have FDR, JFK or RWR in this situation, but I'm hoping that the people that are actually in charge of things do the right thing, and keep George away from press conferences.

Piss Boy

You are a master of exaggeration and hypothetical bullshit.
Don't you EVER let facts get in your way.

Your constant tirades are becoming very stale and repetitive.

That's right, you're-a-peein' pee-pee boy, you're not allowed to insult our President, we can take care of that ourselves.

personally i think he is doing a great job, he may not be a great talker like clinton but clinton would have reacted by now all guns blazing and bombs flying . i think the slower stealthy approach is going to be more effective give the guy credit

What is wrong with admitting that you want one of the prime suspects taken dead or alive? Personally I hope they hang him by his balls over a cliff with peanut butter and bird seed all over him so that birds can peck away at his flesh, but what is your gig?

I think Dubba is doing a fine job...........could be better could be worse but you know what? He is the Leader of the Free Frickin World..........ain't perfecct, he is human you know?

Amen. 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer.........

My personal fave was the junior senator from some backwater state who declared in Congress that "this is not a time for justice, it's a time for war."

Yeah, let's act first and think later.

I don't see Bush acting first and thinking later.

Could be that's why he is president and not a "junior senator from some backwater state."

bush has great advisors around him.
the fact that he is canvassing the other nations of the world means he has taken the moral high ground which would have easily been lost if the tomahawks had been launched
by getting a normally hostile muslim country pakistan to negotiate with the taliban [who incidentally are not an elected government , if you can even call them government] he keeps all the other hostile muslim states on side
countries like the yeman, uzbekistan, tajikistan, sudan and iran can then be used to stage airstrikes against terrorist bases.
the smart money is not on a massive airstrike but a small special forces insertion into the area , asuming they are not there already

Yes that one good thing.

Trouble is you can almost see his unconrolled glee at the ratings he's getting in the polls. It's now a question of one more point up and "Let make a fighting speech and to hell with the rest of 'em. Who are they anyway? Just a bunch of people who don't appreciate America is the leader of Democracy and the Free World!"

And Chuckus and a few others...there is a distinct difference between being the Prime Suspect and being the Accused. What's Bush going to do next? Pass out white hats for the good guys and black hats for bad?

Just curious, PP

If Al Gore or anyone else you would approve of more than Bush were taking the exact same tack following these attacks would you be so critical?

And yes, the US is wearing the white hats here. :)

Most definitely.

If you have the time to go back over my "anti-Bush" threads you will see that I always attack the policy. The man sometimes gets in the way but where a politician is following policy or making statements that I cannot agree with, either by politcal persuasion or because I cannot see the logic involved I will always criticise it.

If you do manage to plough through my threads you will also see that I have also, in the past, supported some of Reagan's policies.

Bush reminds me of one of those people who whip up a frenzy of feeling amongst the public because either he a) likes the sound of his own voice and lets it run away with him or b) really can't see what affect his words will have on anything.

I would dearly love to be a fly on the wall and witness what Powell and Cheney really say to him in the privacy of the Oval Office after he's made one of his gaffes.

:)

p_p_man, i'm not looking for trouble. i am a little confused which for me is normal. maybe you can help me out.
the thing is this. why do you care {in east texas country talk}why do you give a hoot and holler in hell about what bush says?
hell... i voted for him and i don't care as much as you do.

are you american by birth? or is you bunch of leaders so boring and stuffy you look on ours as a clown act?
