I'm sure this question has been asked before, but since I'm fairly new to the forum I'll ask it now:
Does your spouse know that you write - erotica/smut/porn? If not would you like her/him to? And lastly if he/she does know, how and when did they find out?

My wife does know that I do, but doesn't want to know (she says) what kind of stories or genres I write about. The fact that I started posting here slipped out by accident, but neither of us is a prude so she left it with the comment that she didn't want to know what type of stories I write.

No. She knows I was bi when active (as was she). She knows I write. Because that's what I do in the mainstream now, write and edit. She doesn't know I'm writing smut, though.

My husband knows and is quite supportive. He prefers my nonhuman stuff, but enjoys the romantic as well. I know there are some categories he wouldn't enjoy, but he wouldn't care if I wrote in them. I don't, but that's for my own reasons.

Yes, she does, no problems. She doesn't read my smut, but has read some of my more mainstream stuff. Of course she's not in to sci-fi, so it was a struggle for her. As for my erotica...she has no interest, but her girlfriend loves it.:D

Hmm, it's a mix. My wife knows that I'm a horny devil, she's mellowed with age though and is far less critical of my erotic nature now she knows and understands that it is for my erotic creativity that we're so good together.

I've only just started posting here, my first story is pending. I don't think she'd flip if she found out and in fact she'd probably just roll her eyes...but no, she doesn't know.

My partner proofreads my stuff and gives me story feedback :)

Yes, she knows but isn't really happy about it. When I first started submitting she did read some of the comments. She hasn't read a story since 2005.

She not only knows, but is a member herself. She has more stories posted than I do and generally better scores. She edited my last submission, I don't think she liked it very much. Her only comment when she was finished was. "I didn't change anything except to repair the grammar errors."

Oh well, you can't please everyone.

My husband is very supportive

Of my little hobby. He reads my stories (doesn't love all of them), and they have a very positive impact on our sex life. I hide nothing from him, and he comes along for the ride, partly because it's fun, partly to keep me safe from two steps behind. This has been a nice experience for us.

Yes, my sweetheart (male partner) knows. I'm female. He is fully supportive and enjoys my stories that address his particular desires most. Fantasy is dear to us both.

Yes and he hates it

i have been writing for awhile but never posted anything. i bought a i pad and put a writing app on it. husband was playing around and opened it found my story. he was pissed off stopped talking to me left for 3weeks. but i keep emailing him what I was writing. he got over it and come home but wont talk to me about it.:)

Does your spouse know

Yes and no. She knows I write but didn't like the one story I asked her to read. She didn't like the age difference between the male and female lead. She hasn't read any of my other stories because I know ( 32 years of marriage ) she won't like them.

informed wife?

She knew about some early stuff I sold to girlie magazines before there was such thing as the net. She was glad I got some royalties and added to my portfolio.

She didn't read those stories - she won't read what I post here. Just not her thing.

She'd spark fire if I were to start seeing any women here at Lit - that's about it.

Thankfully, this is one problem I won't have to think about for a very very long time.

My other half read my early work but nothing recently. My previous gf tried to get me in trouble with the law for my stories, and my ex wife has read most of my work. I'm not sure but I get the feeling my other half thinks
I write porn.

LIT writers are the bravest of the brave hiding behind their fake pix and names.

death row would have you and me both on it.

divorce then death or just death by some horrible method I think.

Divorce? Oh I wouldn't get off that easy.

I'd rather expect to be locked out from the bedroom for months until my brain explodes and kills me. She'll get away with it too, since this particular mode of execution hasn't been incorporated into the law yet.

So I'm quite happy writing under a pseudonym, thank you very much... :)

Well, yes, but that's a different thing entirely from writing stories.

It's a shame that it has to be a problem for anyone.

husband is a ass

Um, yes, it would seem so. That was a pretty juvenile reaction he had.
