have a favorite toy? I think my cat has a foot fetish. His favorite toy is a shoestring. He brings it upstairs to bed at night like he killed the prey and brought it to us. Meowing some interesting notes. He brings it back downstairs in the morning in similar ceremony. His best day however is if my husband cuts new insoles to fit his shoes. He loves to take the extra that is cut off and hide it. Yes, we have tried many toys but those two are his favorite.

Larry has never been interested in toys or chasing balls or any of that. He likes to run in the woods and if he comes across a deer, he'll chase that for a while.

Plastic milk jug caps.

They're light enough he can carry it, ricochet off the hallway walls, slide well on the hardwood floor, roll a long way, are easy victims to a predatory pounce, and are the cheapest toy I've ever found.

When the jug is empty, wash the cap and toss it on the floor. The cat will find it.


I do give them catnip stuffed mice as well but I try to limit those because it's really not good for them.
