I recently bought a video game set, the new Playstation, for my guy and several games. I thought it would make him happy. I used to like video games. I still do, somewhat, but developed other interests over the years. Well, the problem is that he liked it too much.


Ever since he came back from his trip ( he went visiting his parents), he's been playing with the video game more than he's been playing with me.

Me : "What are you doing ? Are you still playing video games ? Come to bed !"

Him : "Hold on, alright ?"

Me : "You've been at it all afternoon."

Him : " I just need to get this guy, alright ? ( he was referring to his virtual opponent in the game)

Me : "Why ?"

Him : " I want to stick it to him !"

Me : "That's nice, but I'd rather you stick it to me instead !"

Guess what I did afterwards ? I dropped my panties to the floor. He turned around, saw me naked, his eyes lit up and he forgot about the game.


And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done !

Yeah.... I know how 'they' can be... Mine is a Formula 1 (racing) addict... and cars in general... Whenever a race is on TV (qualification on Saturday, the race on Sunday) he's gone.... not on this earth

But there are other TV programs about cars like Top Gear (from the UK) and such... I have joked to him that I will have four wheels attached to me to make myself more attractive to him...

It's not really thát bad though.... I have 'my things' too, so, no, it's not driving me insane..... not really

im a gamers (video games of all kinds) and i know it can drive my wife insane. so i try to compromise (sp?). like we'll go grocery shopping together or go see a movie or just get out of the house and do something during the day. that way at night i usually can get in some game time without her being too pissed.

My son introducted me to a game called "Call of Duty" about two years ago. It's a WWII shooter type. You go through various missions to complete the game. Very realistic. Then I found the online version of it. Playing against REAL people.

I got to be a regular player on a few of my favorite servers. There are thousands of them out there dedicated to "COD". Come to find out through forums and websites that most of the players are older than you think. Ranging from teens to people in they're 60's.

The many servers out there tweek the game to they're liking. The one's I play on are "sniper" only. No run and gun. I recently join a "clan" called "Revolution Sniper Team". When you join a "clan", your given "tags" to show your affilliation. My game name is "OldWiseGuy". So now I'm called "{RST}OldWiseGuy"

I play every night and on the weekends in matches and tournaments online. My wife has accepted it, but tends to bitch me out when I push it to far. Pretty pathetic for a 48 year old!

I think I'll mention the panties thing to help her out a little

Being something of a gamer myself, I can understand how you feel. I know I can be like your man, so I'm careful to pace myself and to keep in mind that the game has a "Pause" button. It also helps that I pick games that have a plot and require a bit of thought (like Prince of Persia or Suikoden) instead of games that are all action.

On the other hand, my wife likes to browse shopping sites and look at shit. She doesn't buy anything, but she likes to point out all kinds of silly things if I'm writing. I know she isn't trying to be a pain in the ass, but I do have to remind her that it's hard enough to concentrate when people aren't interrupting me. She's been better about it since she knows that I'll ask her for some quiet time and put on headphones so she can see I need to be left alone. I keep the volume turned down so that she can still get my attention if it's really important, of course.

my gf hates the games i play. i got a xbox 360 and she was pissed for two days. not because she thinks they are childish. but because it takes my attention away from her and because she has a problem playing games in 3D and the controlls get complicated. but i do have an old super nintendo hooked up and we play that together and i am going to go out and buy another vintage NES(katrina swallowed mine) and we will do that together.


but to resolve the issue i try to not play when she is home or in the room. my next apt will have a 2nd bedroom for guests a pc and my games. cant wait.

well the thing is guys need something to unwind but the problem comes in the fact that no matter what it is to unwind our partner is gonna think we spend to much time doing that and not enough time with them. so it comes down to you 2 have to compromise you have to realize he can't spend 24-7 on you and he has to realize he can't neglect you for a video game system. that being said i just got my 360 last week and i freaking love it but i still find time to do other stuff with my friends i have no partner but if there is any girls that like a gamer that will treat u like the queen u are!!!! holler at me!

Look, guys have the tendency to get stuck in front of the ps2 or whatever console for loooooooooooong amounts of time.
For example. If my (hypothetical) girlfriend came to me and bugged me when I was in a boss battle in Final Fantasy 8 I'd tell her to wait. Basically I dont know if I'd even notice her XD

Just kidding It's just that when guys are playing games it's better to just say what you want once or twice and then leave them for some time and when you come back and say it a third time we'll probably leave the game and come
