There are virtually no non-obnoxious advertisements on television anymore. They tend to vary from moderately annoying to (more often) obnoxiously infuriating. They completely lack any charm or cuteness or even any remotely positive characteristics. These are not just "my opinions," but is verifiable fact.

In short, today's TV ads SUCK. The only ones that I am not entirely annoyed by are the Geico ads. Those are the ONLY ONES ON TV today that aren't completely infuriating.

I'm not even getting into the political correctness that is being peddled along with the products (over representation of certain ethnic groups, non-traditional "gender" roles, etc), even ignoring all that (as if it were possible) 99.9% of today's TV ads utterly and completely SUCK. They cause more anger than anything else when I don't have time to grab the remote and mute the sound and end up being subjected to them for a few seconds. The most obnoxious ads seem to be the ones for cell phone services, cable TV companies, and hi-tech products. These are even more obnoxious that most of the others, which is difficult to fathom.

I certainly won't buy a product because I'm subjected to blatant annoyance and obnoxiousness. What kind of sub-human morons go buy products after watching today's TV commercials???

The only product most of these ads make me want to go buy is a new TV after they cause me to throw a brick through the screen.

I actually want to try the create a bun thing that's being run. With my hair I need all the help I can get.

That really is your opinion though, you know. Other people may not find them as annoying or obnoxious as you do.

What I really hate are the ones that insult the intelligence of the viewers. Some of them make me determined to avoid buying the product or service being advertised. Among the worst ones I have ever seen were those for Dodge Aspen and for Docker pants. I will never buy any of those products, even though I might have done so otherwise.

Every time they show a same sex couple on tv it makes me want to find a female to copulate with.

The fact is these ads are costing companies a lot of money with very little return.

You say, "that can't be, they study all this. They do market research." The fact is that there is a thing called "best practices" and "industry standards." Companies are cowardly and simply follow along with the current trends, in fact, that is required in big companies. I constantly get in trouble for pushing back against "best practices." I don't work in marketing, but you can bet money that its exactly the same. Or worse yet, they just hand the account over to a Big Advert agency and let them do what they want with it.

LOL. The question honestly isn't phrased well enough to be answered. I don't think there are a lot of things that I wouldn't have bought that I do because I saw them in a commercial but I can definitely say that I would have missed out on a few movies, video games and shows if nobody had reminded me that they cam out in x month on x day.

Also if you don't find those commercials with the Business exec doing market research with the little kids you have no soul. It's been over a decade since Jack in the Box put out a commercial that wasn't at least okay. I could go on but arguing with a renard is kinda point less and I'm rally just killing time. Besides I think he has me on ignore.

No. I hate fucking commercials and have vowed to never buy anything I see advertised on TV. The pickings are pretty slim here, but I get by. ;)

No. Advertising doesn't work for me.
I am not influenced by any form of advertising.
I buy what I need/want by actually going out and looking at the merchandise in real life.

I understand that tv is a business, and that they show ads to create revenue.... but why the fuck does the ad have to be twice as loud as the show?
Just one more reason why I hardly ever watch tv.

We have a law against that in the US. The CALM Act.

i'm going to say no, on account of not owning a tv.

I don't even mind that, I'd probably leave the tv on all night every night if the comercials between shows didn't wake me up. It's a win win deal for me.

Not regular commercials no but my whole family is susceptible to infomercials. They are restricted from watching them. Lol.

Ads work. They don't work on everyone but they work on most people. They work because our minds accept whatever theyre exposed to, if theyre exposed to the message often enough. Its simple brainwashing 101.

That said, some folks do resist the messages; they have what we call polarity responses. So what happens is manufacturers herd these contrarians towards a competitor who's owned by the same corporation. If you think Chevy trucks suck, buy a GMC. Around here every cell phone service is connected to the Verizon system. I hate Verizon commercials but they don't care, they don't have to, theyre the only game in town.

When we hate commercials its prolly because the commercial isn't aimed at us, they got our business already, and maybe they want the black people.

Lots of advertising is not designed to get you to buy the product. It's to establish it as top-of-mind. You may hate the ad, but you won't forget the brand.

Same thing dumass.

Shut up and tell me where I can get a cage for this squirrel I just bought. . .

Is this the best you can do on an EROTIC, web siite?

1. We have hundreds of threads dedicated to re-posting and hotlinking porn shots.
2. We have a board completely dedicated to personals.
3. We have a forum dedicated to amateur pictures (which primarily are the same pictures in line 1, but never mind that).

this part is for 'everything else'. If you don't want 'everything else', then I recommend you try #1 2 or 3.

I'm sorry, but could you please link me to the hundreds of threads? I simply will not be satisfied until I see every one of them.

Thanks. E.
