Does the birth control debate...

ewwwwww - you are one sick puppy

*double gags*
i hate it when people throw up in a thread.

hiya, sweetie

Heya Chipstick..

My apologies, it was the merest thought of Gumpy in a sequined thong.. *runs to toilet*

make America look foolish? I was just curious, looking for a different prospective on the issue. The fact that Americans are currently debating whether women have the same rights to prescription coverage as their male counterparts in this day and age, makes me, as an American, feel foolish. So, how does it look from an outside prospective?

why is this a insurance issue? insurance should not cover this. period!

no wonder health insurance is so freaking expensive. Jesus next think you people will want is band aids & toothpaste to be free

why are you wanting the 1% to pay for everything? get a freaking job

after reading this thread i am all for delving into tax revenue to sterilize most of you so you can no longer infect the gene pool with your stupidity.

Florida, too...

The fact that we're even having this debate in the 21st Century is ridiculous. Future generations will look back on us with such disdain.

Virgina as well. I think it really separates the true small government people from the "I dont like liberals" people, when they cant even muster outrage that the government is telling me and my doctor I have to have unnecessary medical procedures, oh and I have to shell out the extra money for these procedures too.

AJ calling others on logic is comedy. I wonder if he made any of his own logic boo-boos in this thead.

Straw Man Argument
- He ignores Perg's actual stated position in favor of making one up for him and attacking it. Perg then clarified his position (graciously, as it was perfectly clear to begin with) and asked him not to repeat the Straw Man but it didn't help.

Ad Hominem attacks
- "Perg hates capitalism" so of course he's making these points, pfft!"

Argument from Authority - "My wife is a medical case manager so I am an authority on this topic!"

Insistence upon False Dichotomies
- You're either an laissez-faire capitalist or you HATE capitalism. There's no in between and AJ eager as hell to brand others as haters.

False Civil Discourse
- "I'm always a up for civil discourse..." Followed by snide, arrogant remarks and putting Perg's ideas in quotations in order to belittle them. Then calling him "slow" and other names.

Ground Rule Manipulation - Perg isn't allowed to mention his experience with his spinal tap patient since it's a mere anecdote, but then AJ completely changes the rules when he wants to mention his burnt-out doctor or something that happens at his wife's hospital.

Just Blatant Eye-Watering Hypocrisy - AJ the notorious C&P arguer attacked Perg for arguing through C&P articles. It doesn't matter that Perg actually didn't post any articles, he still used attacked him for it.

What upsets me the most, is the lack of female voice on this issue. Panels are debating it in congress, and they dont have so much as 1 female among them. I dont except men to know off hand the varied and numerous health benefits that the pill provides, but it does much more then prevent conception.

[shrug] You ladies have had the vote since 1920; using it effectively is all up to you. (Getting women involved in the RCC's councils on this issue, that's a very different problem.)
