Does prompting readers to vote or comment work?

This reminds me of when I managed for a Domino's franchise. Each store had well known addresses that never tipped, or would only tip up to the next whole dollar. Talking with district manager, I came up with one of the most effective methods to solve that problem.

Every single credit card order without a "built-in tip", I would have all my drivers write in "Thank you very much for your generous tip! Enjoy your food."

Instantly we started seeing our drivers pull in $50-$200 more in tips every shift.

Not being sarcastic, but seriously, who knows what works and doesn't with the readers? Most consistent thing here is inconsistency and no matter what you think you have figured out...well, something happens that proves you wrong.
