I am pretty sure it is a feature that was never fully enabled.

Exactly, you have to just keep trying. I usually have to try a dozen times or so before i get in. I never could today though. I agree, the old format was much better.
It's pretty much just like the old chat room was and how must chat rooms these days are.
Text only with support to be in multiple rooms at the same time.
The interface as a whole is a little bit different, but once you get used to it, it will all make sense soon enough. It's amazing to me to think that the old chat rooms have been down for about three years. It makes me feel old.

I just got in this morning for the first time in months ... maybe more than a year. Of course I haven't really been trying very much, since it hasn't been working for so long, but this thread prompted me to give it a go. I got in, managed to say "Good morning" to about three people, got booted, and now can't get past "initialization." I have to say Lit chat was the best on the whole of the Internet, and if any of the powers that be are listening ... please fix it!
