Disney president Michael Eisner is quoted as saying he thinks 40% of Disney's 63,000 employees are homosexual. -AFA Journal 6/97

One of our more liberal posters recently said s/he thought homosexuals were a smaller segment than the 10% or so widely reported. More like 1%.
But even at 10% it would seem that being homosexual gives you an advantage of being hired at Disney.

Or maybe more homosexuals apply at Disney?
Or maybe there are more homosexuals in the industry at large?

Do you think they know if the person they hire is gay when they hire them? I doubt very much it's on the application.

Please mark your sexual orentation.

Is it on the job application?

How or why would anybody know or care?

The person inside the Mickey costume is usually a girl, is that discrimination?

Someone who worked at Disneyland for a year gave me the tip that all of the people in the character outfits were gay. I have no clue why that would be true, if it is.

Disney has had a long tradition of being homo-friendly, so it isn't surprising that homosexuals are drawn to the company.

The company's maskot is Mickey Mouse, for crying out loud. He's about as obvious as Elton John or Boy George. Could there be a clearer signal that gays are welcome?

Last I checked, Mickey's girlfriend was Minnie. They even live next door to each other in DisneyWorld. :)

it's probably because not many gays would feel comfortable as highway workers, coal miners, assembly line types, etc. Of course they would be attracted towards companies and industries where they feel accepted. When I worked in telemarketing years ago, I was a minority!

What about Donald Duck? You think is COINCIDENCE he has a lisp and wears a shirt, but no pants?

Daffy Duck wears no clothes, has a lisp, and is always kissing on guys. Plus, he's pretty high strung, too.
