does cut or uncut effect penis size at maturity?

I have a theory that the uncut penises grow larger than cut ones. But this is only based on pictures and movies. (a fish will only grow as big as the confinements will allow)--I wonder if the lack of skin restricts the penis from growing to full potenial? I my self am cut, but my wife and I decided that our baby (if a boy) will not be cut. Because we feel thats something he can decide to change on his own when he is older. Any thoughts on this??

There is quite a lot of discussion about circumcision, I guess it is a topic close to every mans heart. Having said that I will probably attract a few angry responses for airing my own opinion. I think we should call a spade a spade and refer to it as genital mutilation. There are very rare cases where it is necessary to the well being of the person, but in most cases it is done purely for aesthetic reasons and the victim, generally an infant, does not get to voice their opinion.

Is this just an excruciating rite of passage that is performed on boys in primative societies, that has been embraced within the framework of recognised religion and therefore gained legitimacy?

Right on sailor!

I totally agree. Atleast now they are giving the parents the option. For awhile doctors just did it without a second thought. They thought that it reduced stress, prevent diseases, and would be socially accepted. Now they know that all that was wrong.

I am cut and i don't think it makes any difference in size, as far as asthetics goes, my gf profers helmets over turtlenecks, and i don't really know about the medical aspects of it so its pretty much up in the air.

Very well stated thoughts, gentlemen. Can a female join the party now?

I agree 100% here. When I had my son, I left him the way nature intended. I have a few adult male friends who have been circumcised in their late teens and/or early adulthood for various personal reasons, and one swears up and down that he lost size because of it. So, my son, too, can make this decision when he's older. If a male takes care of his body and keeps decent hygiene, then he should not have any problems with the foreskin. It seems, for the most part, that circumcision is just an American fad.

I am cut too. I wonder if it cuts down on the feeling. My guess is that it does. All those extra nerve endings are being cut right off!

My guess would be that it does also, but not because nerve endings are being cut away, per se, but because of constant exposure. My clit is extremely sensitive. I swear, I have my own mini penis head. lol I think that if I "lost" my hood (yes, there are female circumcisions out there where the hood is removed) I would lose a LOT of sensitivity. Penis heads and clits are supposed to be pretty much the same thing for the two sexes. Both are filled with many nerve endings and are super sensitive to touch. Having the body's natural "protector" to that spot removed means that in time the sensitivity with go down!

I agree 100%. It is mutilation. Bottom line. Like I said before, it's become an "American fad". If the man keeps his body clean, he will have no problems with the foreskin. Very rarely has it been a health issue that the foreskin must be cut.

I to believe that is mutilation. Other countries that do this to women are considered barbaric, yet we do it to our men and it is deemed "normal". Since when is it normal to cut off a body part??? I just don't understand.

i haven't seen it

but I have heard about it. Surprisingly enough, my grandmother was talking about it to us (at her rip old age at the time of 82). She said that she enjoyed the feeling of a non-circumsized penis. Then when my grandfather had to get it done in an old age, she said it made such a difference that she didn't even care for sex after that.

Im not a guy so I wouldn't know..nor have I had a boy ( i have a girl), but I think getting circumsised young is best because it does stop infection from starting under the skin. According to my grandmother, she said he had to do alot to keep it clean. also he has been to the doctors many times for problems due to missing areas.

If i was a guy, i'd be bothered with having to clean under the skin, making sure it was dry after wards and then worry about after sex with anything hidden under it. But....i soooo lucky, I AM WOMAN....LOL

I would like to see one in person though...I can't pass judgement until then.

hmmm to be, or , not to be

reading some of these responses, i will add my 2 cents worth.

first off.
i am NOT circumsized and i am 46 yrs old
circumcizion has no real medical purpose one way or the other although it is practiced in some religions due to beliefs only.
my own theory, uncut is more sensitive than a cut one only based on the reasoning that cut penises (?) would tend to be more apt to getting calloused over time.

it is really no big deal keeping an uncut penis clean. all that is required is to pull the skin back and wash, dry thoroughly, and it is done. the only difficult part is keeping it clean for a small child until he gets in the practice of personal hygene. of course, one has to watch that hair does not wrap itself under the head of a penis as this could cause serious problems if ignored for a time.

unless the forskin cannot slide over the head of a penis easily, there should really not be a reason for it to be done.

thats good to know

batter....I haven't experienced anyone uncut myself. I only heard about my grandfather. Sounds gross for me to talk about him but then again, he is the only one I knew of like that. (coming of course from her point of view)

thats also why I pointed out that I had a girl and not a boy. I dont know what it is like to bring up a boy. The questions were asked of course while I was pregnent..what I would do...but when it came down to the birth..who cared...it was a she!!!

good to know though..I don't like to think faulsly of anything. Advice is great in my book!!!

medical reasons

Okay all,

I'm throwing in my 2 cents worth, and you may not like it but...here it goes. There are medical reasons for being circumsized. It does reduce the chance of infection. It does not change the size. If little boys don't pull back the skin to wash it will get infected, and it can even seal the skin to the head of the penis. This is not a pretty site I have seen a little boy crying because there is blood all over his penis, and he didn't know why, or what was going on. Then he had to be circumsized at the age of 5 instead of at birth.

The foreshin does not retract until the child is around 4-6 years of age--it is not closed, but protective--no cleaning is required and forcing it back is like stretching your child's nostrils to get something too big inside his nose.
It is stupid.

Most men in this world are uncut and living to a ripe old age or living without penile infections are not rare.

And as to the cleaning arguement--what? Are you guys stupid AND lazy? Do you really think that cleaning a natural penis is any more difficult that cleaning a vulva?

Hey... Be careful--common sense might start dawning on some of you......

If you think that it should be done for hygenic reasons and to cut down on infections, we can go ahead and start cutting off every bady part that has a remote possibility of a problem--breasts--excellent choice, labia--gotta go, noses--open them up to encourage the contents to get more air-oh yeah!

(I have heard the arguement over and over about penile cancer in men being related to foreskin too--of course, there are maybe 2 cases of penile cancer in the US per year--on average 6 babies die each year from circumcision related causes--what usually kills them? Oh my! It is INFECTION!!!!!!! And stupidity, obviously.)

I have to wonder what age you are referring to--penile care should never EVER be painful--if you are pulling back a foreshin that has not naturally loosened yet, then you are probably
1.) torturing a child
2.) scarring the child's body,
and
3.) Setting up the situation for adhesions to occur.

I have seen males whose foreskin did have to be removed medically--non of them were bleeding beforehand--they had seriously uncomfortably tightness and went for care and got it taken care of--typically by circumcision at that point. Bleeding comes with tearing--and I wonder how a boy that is under 5 could have tearing on his penis? Hhhmmm......

(FYI--cathing a patient who is male and uncircumcised is no biggie--in young boys, the foreskin is not a problem--even though it is still "tight"--all nurses say it is easy as pie--on adult males, they "skin it back" and insert like normal. I suppose someone has wondered if the tubing could be poking around the head instead of going in--everyone who does it says it is never an issue.)

Personally given the randomness of penus growth and sizes, I don't really think you prove or disprove it. I am cut and a good size and I have been cut since I was a babe. I think that would be more or less a wives tale.

uncut penises are ugly ok.... UGLY! They do the procedure for many reasons but mostly cosmetics. People do shit to there bodies all the time.....

So, what if it's body mudilation. I know a guy who isn't cut and he hates it and wishes it were but there is nothing he can do about it. Even though he really wishes he wern't because the surgery is to painful...

Kinda like getting your tonsels out when your young..... it doesn't hurt as much as when you are old. The baby doesn't even know whats happening and they heal so fast.... Even i know this.

I have seen some pretty big dicks in my day... all were cut. It has nothing to do with size, in fact.... in a sex education class i took in college, it is said that uncut men do not get as hard as cut men.....

Plus, anyone out there ever sucked an uncut dick? Yuck, i have. It doesn't feel right....... Sorry to all of you out there that are uncut.

What is the big deal? Believe me, your kid will be angry with you for not doing it. I guarantee that by the time he is old enough to use his dick, there will be virtually no one out there with there penis uncut. Think of the pain your child will go through.....

Hey blondegirl! "Most men in this world are uncut and living to a ripe old age or living without penile infections are not rare. "

I don't know where you are getting your statistcs from baby but you are wrong. Most men ARE cut. And penile infections (other that sexualy transmitted deseases) are more common in uncut men than cut me. sorry.

Aaahhh.... When ignorance displays itself, does that count as stupidity?

Okay--to correct the idiot

How common to you think circumcision is in China? Asia? Russia? Europe? Africa? Do you know all of these people personally?

(Walking out of thread laughing. "Idiots are such entertainment at times.")

I just had a thought. I wonder how often males develop keloids on their penises from this interference.

I know my niece developed serious keloids on her ears after piercing each of them. It took multiple procedures to deal with them. I have never heard of any penises developing them though from circumcision--I wonder if it is just not heard about or if it occurs at all.

My cousin just told me that her boss has a keloid from an old zipper injury.

For those of you unfamiliar with Keloids, they are areas of excessive scar tissue. In the example of th ear piercing--instead of a normal ear, they might have a growth the size of a finger at the surgical site. It is really very stupid to do this to a child. No one seems to think that the risks apply to his/her kid.

They occur more often in black people also. (Not sure if other races or ethnicities also form them a lot--just know what I see in my patients.)

Here is a link. (I don't see any pix line my niece's--hers was like the biggest bean shaped thing growing on her earlobe--maybe an inch and a half out making her ear protrude. )

(I am noting that you are not registered and signing your posts. Ashamed of yourself? LOLOLOL Who needs TV with real human entertainment like that?)

actually. i just don't feel like registering. I've been coming to this site for like almost 3 years..... i have many names. just can't remember the passwords.....

I've talked about this a lot in the past and I cannow tell you a few thing's for sure

1. having a "cut" cock won't make it smaller, your penis grow's most at puberty and any thing that happens after that doesn't really matter to the size, although a lack of protien in the diet can cause your penis to shrink, thats why the old one about weight lifters having small cocks got started because they trained to hard and didn't take enough protein and their bodies began to eat them selve and their cocks shrank.

2. having an uncut cock leads to infections, CRAP I'm 33 years old and have never had an infection in my life.....well not in my cock, my hand yes, my eye yes but my cock no, I was taught how to wash as a kid and have never had a problem, and if having an uncut cock is SO bad then how come the 80% of males in the world with uncut one aren't dead yet ?

3. men with uncut dicks last longer in the sack, this is probably true but the down side is why they last longer and thats cause by removing the foreskin you expose the glads to the air all the time and the skin on the glads thickens to protect it and the nevre ending's become desensitised (sp) because instead of having nice soft skin to protect them they now rub about in the open air inside you short's, and with the loss of sensation it takes longer to reach critical mass for the ejaculation to happen so you do last longer "BUT" worst of all cut men don't have as good an orgasm as uncut men.

If you think this is all BS then try walking about with your tongue out for a couple of days and see how many taste buds are left once it had a good chance to dry out.

Im 16 and im uncircumsized. Ive never really cleaned it too thoroughly and i dont have any problems. The most i usually do is maybe once a week i pull the skin up so i can slip the tip of my finger inside and rub some soap around and then open in and let water in to rinse the soap out. It doesnt stick or hurt or whatever.
My reason for not pulling it all the way back is because the head is too big and because its too sensitive.

Uncircumcised penis

I am uncut myself. Women who have had experience with both cut and uncut swear that the foreskin, as it collects and bunches up, actually tickles the vagina resulting in a mini-orgasm. I am not large, only 5-1/2" when erect, but I make up for it in versatility!
