Usually I post the support thread for the next contest as soon as the winners for the last one have been announced but there is a long break between now and Halloween.

Are you ready for a support thread yet?

Do you, or your muses, need encouragement?

Or do you want a f**king break!

Vote now or I'll start one immediately...

Og

PS: To forestall the inevitable question:

Halloween
themes: scary stuff, costumes, Halloween traditions (trick-or-treating, etc.), etc.
starts: October 1
closes: October 22
winners announced: October 29

I don't know, Og. If you start a thread, we'll probably just play in it because October is so far away. :D And, well, we'll play in it nearer to the contest too, and all through the contest... and after that...uh, well, ok fine, this isn't helping. :D

Number three for me. I'd suggest waiting a few weeks.

I thought I'd discovered a fool-proof method for last place winner when I uploaded my last story. It went into sci-fi, had about 1000 reads, 5 votes and 1 comment (the comment is from someone that read the original thread) the score was approximately 3.8 or thereabouts.

Then there was a sweep and it now has 1300 odd reads only 3 votes and a score of 5. I don't think that beats Ogg's accounting to make last place. And then of course there would also be many more reads and possibly votes.

But if I get around to it and enter a story it will definitely be in sci-fi because my only other sci-fi at Lit also has 3 votes and one comment.

I've got 2 stories started.... and now you tell me it's to early.....

The topic of the thread isn't pertinent to me at the moment, but I would like another thread to play around in. I'll vote whatever option that one is.:cathappy:

I'm saying yes. Maybe if I have a daily reminder of the contest I won't wait until October 1 to start writing. *sigh* Or maybe I will...

I hope so - it'll be warmer in October, my muse may have ended her hibernation by then.

It's silly that Australia has its holidays at the same time as us... if you go by the pagan origins that is... Yule is meant to brighten the darkest night, yet you have it in summer, Samhain (Halloween) is meant to usher in the dark nights, yet you have it in Spring...

Still, if you're Xian I don;t suppose it matters much.

You won't have school holidays, will you? *raised eyebrow*

Well... maybe you should have started this thread in January, Og. After all October is only three months away. ;)

Oh Shit! What to write. Maybe a talking Halloween Vigina story or something. Hmmm... now about the costume... :)

You mean to tell me there are no contests in which I can enter my just-started Labor Day story? How about my nascent Autumnal Equinox epic? And I was pretty sure I had something in the back of my mind for Columbus Day. We have to wait 'til Halloween? Damn Christmas decorations will be up by then.

The support threads remind me that I should write a story someday. By all means, procede.

We should have more contests... Like a "Pray for Summer Contest"... a "Pray for Winter Contest"... a "Long Time Until Another Holiday Contest" and so on.

When I was in college we always had Pray for Summer and Pray for Winter Parties down at Lake Shasta. That is until we were attacked by a huge sea serpent and... but that's a long story. Sorry. :(
