Does anyone take cold showers?

The cliché always was that people (especially men) should take a could shower when they became aroused to avoid 'immoral' things like masturbation or extramarital sex.

Given that society is no longer quite so disapproving of masturbation and/or sex, does anyone still take cold showers, and if so, why?

Well, my hot water heater gave out last January...I had two cold showers then. And I will say, they pretty much killed any thoughts of sex I might have had, at least for a few minutes.

I love it hot! But at the end of a good steamy shower it is refreshing and good for your pores to give yourself a body blast with cold water too. Brings all your nerve endings to life, heightens senses, and shrinks those pores back after theyve been cleansed. I also find it pretty sexy too....the change in temperature....the shock to my body......I sometimes love extremes and this is a good example. One thing is for sure though, it certainly doesn't cool my ardour x

I have taken cold showers after being in the sun too long....but I found that a really hot shower works better, followed by baby oil....

I live in east Tx....hotter than hell...so the last thing I need is something to get the room (and me) warmer....
like a lukewarm shower.drives hubby crazy. his are too hot for me, so very little showering together...

i dont know if its true or not but i remember reading somewhere that the cold shower thing is an old wives tale and it wont stop those naughty thoughts

as to the question, i only take cold showers if i have to, i.e used up all the hot water cleaning. i like my showers hot enought to melt my skin off.

No siree- I like my showers hot and steamy! As hot as I can possibly stand without scalding, preferably. Cold showers? Nah. I can say that I was once a girl who rinsed my hair in cold water, after reading somewhere that it made it shinier. However, a little shine serum does the very same thing without making me feel too chilly

Parrish, even you have trouble making that sound sexy.

I know what you mean though about feeling like that after a long, hot day of physical activity-almost like your body created another layer on top of your skin-usually takes me 2-3 latherings to feel really clean, hot or cold.
