Sorry, that's not how the oil shell game works globally. We've produced way more oil under Biden and it has been countered by other nations acting to offset that. Besides, most of the oil we drill for can't be processed here. Refineries are near maximum already, and those are aging. The oil industry hasn't seen the need to open new ones, which takes years of prep and construction. We are a net exporter of oil. Think about that and then ask how that affects local consumers buying gas in their neighborhood.

So no, supply isn't a simple see-saw result of more of one equals less of the other, regardless of your thoughts about stolen taxes for government uses. That's... silly talk. So is Trump's simpleton solution.

Gasoline prices have always fluctuated widely. When they go down, Trump and the MAGAs will proclaim victory. When the price rises, Trump and the MAGAs will pretend they’ve never heard of this “gasoline” stuff.

It will be interesting to see if Trump exempts Canadian oil from his tariffs on Canada (if the tariffs eventually happen). I assume he will.
