Seriously, I just received the following letter in the mail today:

"Enclosed you will find a new American Express Card. We are issuing this new card to protect the security of your account. It is our goal to ensure the best possible service when using your card and to minimize any possible point of sale disruptions."

WTF? Do they know something I don't know? I wasn't aware that I had a "security" problem! Has Amex added premonition to its line of customer service offerings?
 
Call up the customer service number included with the card, and ask them what's going on. Your credit is too important to mess with.

Been there...still doing that. Talked to 11 departments. No one knows why.

Ok, they explained it. They have reason to belive the card has been couterfeited, so they have issued a replacement card.

Spooky.

That doesn't sound good at all. How do they know unless you've had unusual charges show up on your account? hmm...

The said that they work with several law enforcement agencies. Frequently, a group of counterfeit numbers/cards will be seized before they can be used.

I checked the balance on the existing card and its right.
 
She is not.
She showed up on the board once and told me I had an e-mail and I did!
