Does anyone else out there like to 'play candles'

My latest is a 6" square, four wick one.

First I drilled out a centre hole and added a fifth wick. then I drilled out the old wicks and put in new ones. Finally, so far, I used a saw to cut off the top inch of the wax that made it almost impossible to light.

It's now burning great - and I have wax to melt down for 2, 3, or maybe even 4 new ones.

Playing candles is fun!

Believe it or not I used to make candles for a living. The candle I usualy made was what we called a three wick.

An eight pound candle with three wicks. It would burn for roughly 400 hours. They were made entirely by hand.

I mixed the wax and the scents for them as well as poured them and shaped them.

Candles can be fun.

My Mom has a metal mold for a tapered square about a foot tall
I made some 3 wick ones using a milk carton for a mold

I wasn't actually thinking about making candles from new, more about playing with existing ones. I can spend ages pissing about with burning candles - cutting solid stuff and adding it to the pool of melted wax, or pouring off the melted stuff to revitalise ones that are nearly dead. Anyone else play this way?
