They know it is going to be disastrous for the state of healthcare. Barry should have thrown the Docs a bone with some tort reform so at leas the blood sucking lawyers would suffer too.
My discussions with health car providers at all levels does not reveal a great deal of enthusiasm.

We've had "tort reform" here in Texas for a decade. Hasn't done one fucking thing to improve health care. Doctors still bitch about malpractice premiums.

Doctors ought to do a better job.

If tires came off cars and burned more oil than gasoline, the cost of operating a car would be enormous, and people would blame it on mechanic's incompetence.

For some reason Doctors get a pass.

It's just my luck, my Congressman is also a Doctor. Now he is free to commit malpractice with no cost to himself.

The title of this reminded me of those silly ads that state that "so and so hate this guy cause he figured out this 1 simple trick!"

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was like, "Did Obama figure out some insane fat burning secret?"

Having said that, I've noticed that, for whatever reason, older doctors tend to hate Obamacare whereas younger doctors don't give a shit. I've heard a lot of doctors in their late 60s or 70s who absolutely hate it. But all the doctors that we already see don't think it'll affect them, or at least don't think about it long enough to bring it up.

When a Doctor reaches 60, his malpractice premiums increase a good bit. If he is still practicing at age 70, the rates are prohibitive.

There's a good reason for this.

You are around that age. Your amnesia and lack of intelligence and lack of events are really showing. Get back to watching the al sharpton show and other msnbc programs... Go fill your brain with more hate and stupidity.. ok... bye

I'm glad to see you found somebody who is willing to sell vicodin at a price you can afford.

That makes sense. Even young doctors bitch about malpractice. Not being a doctor I wouldn't know, but my primary has never had a lawsuit against him and his is apparently STILL super high, and he's been practicing for something like 20 years, accident free.

My 40something primary care physician doesn't care, one way or another
My 60something endocrinologist is non-plus about it: most of his patients are older and on Medicare
My 40something opthamologist isn't upset about it: Possibly because he'll have more patients, younger ones

So your assertion that Doctors Hate Obamacare is moot. Not everyone does.

A very good reason. As in, you don't want no 70 yo sticking a needle in you.

That's only because young people bitch, and are entitled to, in every generation.

All people bitch. I mean, I can't outbitch my grandpa and I'm the bitchiest person I know. But to be fair, trying to outbitch my grandpa is kinda like trying to outbitch Gordon Ramsey. And as far as I know there's only ever been one person who had the ability to do that, and that was really more due to her batshit insanity than her bitching ability.

Psst...you're arguing with a user with numbers after his/her name.

95% certainty of a troll

But Ramone has (in booming, echoed Oz-like voice) "had discussions with health car providers at all levels."

That kinda trumps your direct, in praxis associations. Oh welp, can't win 'em all, guy! :D

and yes he did say health car providers! ;)

Docs don't always get a pass but they are formidable adversaries if you challenge them to a gladiator fight. They have money, lawyers, and lotsa influence. And if you hurt them their MD friends continue the fight.

Most of the time their trouble comes from misdiagnoses. A generation ago MDs knew how to diagnose cuz they had no convenient hi-tek labs and computers to do it for them. The Old Timers knew what signs differentiated one thing from another. Todays MDs cant tell sexual abuse from bubble bath sensitivity. Cant tell a cold from pneumonia. What they know is what to prescribe when they get the diagnosis. And if they get it wrong a house is certain to fall on them.

I usta put them in a conference room with a panel of experts, and while the interrogation was polite, it was agony for the suspect MD. And they remember who put them there. Their friends remember.

I work in a doctors office. My main doc is 83 years old and is more than fine with Obamacare as is his 46 year old son, who I worked under primarily.

however my 30 year old cousin, who is a PA, isn't so much. She's a die hard Christian which always makes me chuckle just a bit over her intense dislike of it, which is solely based on her own pocket and nothing else.

The problem with making blanket statements is that it never quite fits.

Naah. Blanket statements are accurate in a statistical sense. When the weather chick predicts a 90% chance of rain she's using the historical record for the prediction.
