"Doctor Who: Powers of Ten" (OOC)

Quesada can draw like nobody's business and I loved "Mask in The Iron Man."

...but that's all the positive I can muster on him. Nevertheless, Marvel's doing more things right these days than DC is, IMHO.

Denying Batwoman a marriage when Northstar got one is sheer idiocy on the part of DC Editorial.

The post-Flashpoint un-happening of Clark and Lois' romance is basically "One More Day" Redux in my opinion, eliminating happy endgame couples for the sake of cheaper relationships.

In fact, "Flashpoint" hinges on the retroactive fridging of Nora Allen. They took one of the only superheroes with happily married, still-living biological parents, Barry Allen, and suddenly decided his mom was murdered as a kid so he'd have something to "fix" and thereby derail history. It sickens me.

me as well.

it also sickens me that the few good stories we have gotten since the reboot was brought about by such a story

Yes.

Yes.

This all might have been a bit of a smidge of a modicum of worth it if for the very most part the post-Flashpoint DCU

DIDN'T

COMPLETELY

SUCK

Is she actually an actress? I thought she was just on American Gladiators or something.

She was a pro wrestler. Fought boys cause the girls were too scrawny for her to sell anything but being a monster. After she left WWE she was all over the place with troubles. Drugs, drinking, the whole nine yards. She has finally landed in Vivid productions doing porn. She played She Hulk in a vivid spoof on the Avengers.....

Well, see, they aren't trying to appeal to you. They are making the characters younger and hipper to appeal to a younger, hipper audience and the absolute best way to do that is to just change how they look and all and keep them being written by the same old white guys who have been producing the same stuff for, like, 30 years.
(I wanna be clear, some of those old white guys have produced some great stuff, but if you want change, you have to get in new people...)

(fuck it, have everything written by Matt Fraction and Jonathan Hickman...and hey, maybe hire some female writers? Just sayin'...)

Just have everything written by Gail fucking Simone.

Fraction and Hickman and Rucka and Kirkman and Gaiman can get the back-up features.

Here's my thing.

Who are the most popular superheroes of all time?

Arguably, Batman, Spider-Man, the X-Men.

Batman because he's a dude without powers who we could maybe be if we tried hard enough.

Spider-Man took off like a rocket because Stan wrote him as a kid with real world problems, and The X-Men only hit their stride when the second squad showed up and they weren't all boring WASPy kids-- that *diversity.*

Who bought books in those days? Young hip kids who wanted to read stories about *people* with powers (or mad skills) not *powers* attached to *people.*

The biggest moneymakers in the comics biz have always been the ones that are *people.*

DC is refusing to write stories about *people.*

People who have found love and stuck to it because that's just as dramatic and rocky and interesting as going it alone, if not more so.

People who kiss people the same gender as them, and who get married to people the same gender as them, because that's a thing, that's a thing that happens, *people* do that.

In their blind greed they are grinding out their very source of income and I mourn for them.

Thats why indie comics are so popular right now. ( besides, some of them are just freaking amazing!)

Katee would make a mouthwatering asskicking Carol, no two doubts about it.

I was just sharing my personal fave.

well that explains why they pissed me off by magically ending the CK and LL marriage.

If you need me, I'll be punching people.

Fully clothed.

Dressed, in fact, as Ev "Starling" Crawford.

I'm looking for where the Doctor hid "The Moment" so i can use it on the higher ups in DC

Really?

Because, shit, "Shadows of The Night" was my favorite song by her.

That was it, that was my best shot.

Dammit. :: snaps fingers ::
