Dan Torrence settles in a New Hampshire town and gets a job in a hospice where, with his Shining psychic powers, he helps his patients come to terms with dying and eases them through their last days.
Known then as Doctor Sleep, he meets a 12-year-old girl who has Shining powers.
Soon he is in a battle to save her soul from predatory paranormals who live off the “steam” produced by Shining-endowed children when they are slowly tortured to death...

he's probably been writing it in his sleep since '77.

Word of mouth is strong but I can't help but be reminded of Black House. Man did that book suck.
I'll read it of course but to be honest I'd rather get a sequel to Salems Lot.

"Doctor Sleep" is such a lame title that it makes the contents seem lame before reading a word of them.
