But I don't like them, I look like a bug, the lenses are like a foot thick

Wear glasses just for the computer, reading, and sometimes watching t.v. They're okay, except I look even more like a dork when I've got 'em on. And there's no way I'd switch to contacts, find them to be way uncomfortable.

I'm used to them though, so they're not uncomfortable.

I'd rather wear the lenses before contacts or surgery any day.

I've worm glasses since I was 11 and can't honestly remember what I look like without them. I can't wear contacts because my eyes are very sensitive to foreign objects in or near them, so I'm stuck with glasses until the cash fairy showers me with bags of green for the surgery.

But, even then, I think I'd stick with my glasses. Sure, they're inconvenient at times (I can't really swim in them, but I can't swim anyhow, and walking about in the rain is a nuisance, too).

Have you ever tried contacts? You really can't feel them.
