I generally wash my hands while I am in the bathroom, not afterwards - it's a lot easier that way.

I'm a Harvard graduate. We wash our hands before using the toilet too!

Because people are lazy, stupid or don't care about spreading germs, I usually grab an extra towel to use on the door handle when I leave. Kinda defeats the purpose of washing your hands when you know someone ahead of you hasn't. Ya know?

I know where my unit has been. I have no idea where the roads yours has traveled. I flush the urinal with my elbow and dont touch any fixtures in public restrooms with my hands. Seems to me the sink would be an orgy of germs. Why would I expose myself to such a risk?

I usually wash my hands BEFORE using the toilet (as well as after, also). I handle money (gods only know where THAT's been!) and sometimes paint and other chemicals during my workshifts, so I take those little extra precautions.

Nope. My elbow does not touch my nose and mouth and only touches the other hockey player's noses and when they mess with my goalie.

Did you know the doorknob of public restroom doors.. have more germs than the toilet does?
You should use a paper towel or something to open the bathroom door. If you don't you are wasting your time washing your hands.
