Do you use the ignore option, and why do you choose to

Just wondering. I put someone on ignore last night. I love the fact that this software makes him so totally gone from my world, LOL

I've used it a few times. Usually people asking for sex.. or when they dont stop bothering you after being asked to

I do. My ignore list consists of Doll Parts, Cade is Here, and a bunch of the white power usernames that were likely all one person.

I have a few HNG's on mine though we're not going to name names like RH did :D

I have 3 people on my ignore list. all 3 of them are/were actually people that seem fairly well liked around here but I just simply can't stomach them. Usually I can just pass over posts of people I dislike but these people usually make me simply hate my time here and get all worked up over nothing. So I just put them on ignore and life is bliss *shrugs*

I wondered about that. They all seem equally annoying

Only once and everyone quotes it and argues with it anyway, so it's pointless. I'm very slow to decide that someone has nothing remotely of interest to say.

you sound open mind person to me.

i have three people on ignore.

dollparts

my "ex" from the PG.

his girlfriend.

I have never used the ignore function and don't see it as being likely to be used in the future. I rarely find someone has nothing useful or interesting to say 100% of the time, like the concept of free speech, accept people do not always have to agree with me or I with them, and above all refuse to limit or censor my experience of the forum by shutting off parts of it through 'ignore'. I imagine it would make it difficult to follow some discussions, and have actually seen where people have said they had to take someone temporarily off ignore to see what everyone else was discussing. I don't like what someone says, I have 2 options....comment on it politely, or move on....seems simple.

i put her on ignore because i can't see her post about the virtues of eating disorders and how to best puke up your dinner.

It's a personal issue for me and i would do the same with someone who posted on how to shoot heroin or snort cocaine.

Interesting point which is why I rarely if ever use it. I only did this one time because the person pushed me too my limit

Once you try to help her and see others try to help her and then see that, six months from now, she's doing the exact same self-descructive behavior (or worse)... and you see that either she's the most ignorant person on the planet or pretends to be (not sure which would be worse), you soon begin to realize that she's not worth the emotional energy of even noticing her thread titles.

Yeah I can see the point of that, but I'm sort of the mind that it's annoying that her threads pop up but I don't necessarily have to open them.

When you hang out in the GB, like I noticed you've started to, there's only so many times you can read thread titles such as "How much is too much to make myself throw up?" or "Is it bad to let my rats lick my genital warts?" without wanting to burn out your eyes.

Okay, the second one is made up... I think. The first one, well, maybe it's not word for word.

You know you're probably right that it will happen eventually. I think I have to be there longer. Some of them make me wanna laugh my ass off and I would hate to miss them.

If you can think of her as a Muppet, then you'll be much better off. :D
