Do you think you look stupid when you smile ?

You have a beautiful smile.

I don't mind mine. I get a lot of compliments on it. But I photograph better in a solemn/calm state.

Its common for people to be selfconcious about their apperance, especially a smile picture which is a snapshot of something that needs to be seen and experenced as a motion, as a small event, a reaction. Yeah, smiles are wonderful, and yeah smile pictures seem far goofier than they actually are. No biggie.

You have a wonderful smile that lets me see in an avatar what I think of in your nature. Its worth keeping up a bit longer.

It's hard to take a self-portrait while smiling. Like Mouse said, you're trying to convey genuine emotion and it's just you and the camera in the room. I just think about somebody or something that makes me happy. :) Looks like that's what you did too.
 
A very beautiful smile. Even Hanns likes it! ;)

I have a nice normal mouth but a very wide lopsided smile, so when people tell me to smile for pictures I try to keep it to a little smirk.

I have crooked vampire teeth. And if I smile without showing them, I think I look kinda half-hearted.

I hate my smile but only because my eyes disappear when I smile. I have very almond shaped eyes and high ckeek bones, so unless I make a concious effort, my eyes disappear behind my cheek bones. But I have been told I have a beautiful smile and that it lights up my whole face.

My husband thinks it's funny to hold up his fingers in front of my face when I'm smiling and ask me if I can see how many he is holding up. Next time he does it, I swear I'm going to smack him!:rolleyes:
 
thanks everyone i will be keeping the av up for a while im sure i'll just have to cringe everytime i see it or learn to get used to it :p

it was actually a real smile in the picture not a posed one as such but i still think i look goofy :)
 
What a funny little thread. It made me smile. When that happens my chubby round cheeks push up and turn my eyes into little half moons of squint and usually one side pushes up a bit higher than the other and I think I have a dab of spinach in my teeth!

Yeah, I'm a looker.

I am tempted to start a poll that reads: "Do you think that Sexy-Girl looks sexy when she smiles?"

We all know that the overwhelming majority would vote "Yes", but the thread would be taken over by Hanns.

His crush on you is so cute.

I think your smile is beautiful - it looks so joyful! :)

I know what you mean though, by feeling uncomforatble about it.
I personally don't like to smile showing my teeth when I get pictures taken - just cause I think I look funny. But am always told to smile with my teeth :confused:

I wonder why it makes some people uncomfortable?
