us to become desensitized towards death? Has the increased frequency of violent acts in television, movies, song lyrics, videos or computer games contributed to our society being more casual towards the thought of death?

An article in the local newspaper took a poll of nearby high school students and found that:
-76% have committed a violent act on another person while attending high school
-92% believed a violent act on another person would rarely lead to death.

A violent act was described as one that caused physical pain or injury to a person's body.
