Do you think it is like Lestat said, that we live in a Savage Garden?

Who is Lestat?

And if so, I must live in a Savage Cactus Garden.

Who the fuck is Lestat?

It sounds familiar.

You are welcome to come and live in me.

But weither you would wish to stay shall remain a mystery to us all.

So Ann Rice said this through the character Lestat?

Well give HER the credit! Sheesh!

Look below for an example of how that works. :D

This is about the concept of a Savage Garden

It is from the Vampire Lestat book by Anne Rice.

But I think it is an interesting topic....
anyone?

Well, I think Thomas Hobbes said something similar in that "lifeis nasty, brutish, and short" kind of a "life sucks, then you die" philosophy.

Personally, while the world may indeed be a "savage garden" I think that there are too many good people, too many incidences of beauty, love and kindness to say that the "law of the jungle" rules in that same savage garden.
But then I have always been an optimist....

I don't know, but sometimes I feel like it is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil around here!

I knew it was from the book...

but more people recognize the movie

I think this place is a Savage Garden most definitely

:p

I know but I dont think in the movie there was any reference to the Savage Garden

:p

Yes, it is truly a savage garden. People have forgotten the niceties in life. People have forgotten manners. They lack sensitivy and compassion most of the time.

As they say, it's a dog eat dog world. The big dog wins. I'm no Mastif and I'm not a pit bull. I try to avoid the war, I'll evade the draft if possible.

but seriously, do you think things are worse now than they use to be??? Was there a time when the world was less savage and people more polite??? as a general rule??
or do you think these things go in cycles - i.e. the 30's more civil than the 60's, etc.???

No...
not that I can remember..
but thats what I associate Lestat with.....

:p
