If so, what do you smoke?

I got to thinking about this because I know some people incorporate it into their play.

Burning with cigs...etc.

My attempt to quit a while back was only 3/4 hearted and ultimately was not meant to be at that time.

It's going to be my New Year's Resolution though.

Not that I've ever kept one of those though...at least not that I can remember...

Unfortunately, yes.

It's the only thing that comforts me sometimes, although I don't plan on incorporating it into play... that would be a little too extreme for me at this point.

I don't smoke, but I did for 16 years, was heavily addicted - had to work to keep it at 2 packs per day. Tried to quite 3 times before I succeeded - the deciding factor - my partner at the time began to develop a smoker's cough and I felt that while I had the right to poison my own system, I didn't have the right to damage his. If you actually do try again after New Years and want support, feel free to PM me.

Regarding smoking and play - can't answer that. :D

I do smoke.

The only way it was incorporated into our play is that I would smoke a clove at the beginning of a scene to fill the air with that pungent odor.

Not anymore! Smoked from age 11 till I turned 31 and quit cold turkey. I haven't had bronchitis since then. I did quit for about 2 years somewhere in that timespan and relapsed - my trigger was driving my car which is where I really needed the "fix" at. I am glad to say that I have never had the inkling to pick up the habit - it doesn't bother me when people smoke around me (although I am not fond of smokey filled rooms).

I have been burned by a cigarette before but it won't happen in my present situation since he quit smoking when I finally quit and he can not handle the smell in any ways (mind you he has figured out he can play with fire with candles just as well as a cigarette).

I don't smoke, given my age and the place I grew up I do not see how I did not pick up the habit, but I think the goddess that I did not.

I did smoke cigars for awhile 30 years ago, but that passed.

I quit cold turkey in late March after smoking since I was 12. It was easier than I expected, up until a few weeks ago when I started again. It's been almost a week since I quit again.

I would never have incorporated it anyhoo, for some reason I always equate ciggarette burns with abuse.

I only smoke during sex...anal sex, mostly. Maybe I need more lube?

On second thought...maybe not. :p

Anybody else notice the strange significance of people saying they quite cold turkey and Thanksgiving was just last thursday. There's got to be a lot of cold turkey out there. OK, maybe it's just me.

I do think it's a wonderful thing that they were able to do that, though. I'm sure it wasn't easy and they should be very proud of their ability to overpower their urge and quite. Personally, I think cold turkey is the best way to quit, if you can handle the initial internal struggles.

Sorry for the little hijack.

P.S., thank you for the complement (that's how I quit.) :D

Not me, I can't stand the stuff, and I wouldn't want to be with a partner who smoked. I have a hard enough time when I go to a bar or club and have to leave all my clothes outside when I come home and take a shower/wash my hair before I can put my head on my pillow. No, smoking is not for me.

not cool dude

In my experience as a sexual deviant I have noticed two types of pain lovers... the one that likes quick sharp pains (bites whips exc.) and the one that like the hardcore pain... but within the more hardcore of us its a building process start with getting them in the mood through the nips and such and then building to claps and shit. so the long burn of a cigaret is not cool and the only reason for them is for the ambiance.

I used to smoke quite a bit (ok a lot a bit... for me anyways), And recently picked up a smoke, but thats another story. FUCK Black Friday!

Anywho, I don't have an adictive personality so I didn't even finish the pack I bought and I've done quit again :p

As far as incorporating it into play, well smoking while getting a blowjob could be interesting I supose... but I wouldn't really call that playing either.

There's definitely more than two types, because there are people who enjoy fireplay, cutting, and other "prolonged" experiences. And then there are people who like the quick stuff and the prolonged stuff, or the "building" and the quick stuff, or all three...it really is a very wide spectrum when it comes to the pain sluts. :)

I haven't smoked for 20 years. I don't mind the smell of cigarette smoke which is lucky cos Master Gil smokes. He quit in February for about 6 months but has gone back to it (although not as heavily as He did before). His father is in hospital atm and the stress of that plus the wedding is making the cigarettes disappear faster today though :(

I am hoping we can start the quitting process again in a few weeks when the wedding is over and hopefully His dad is on the mend.

No, but I have mixed feelings about cigarette smoke, least in some ways...

I find cigarette smoke to be sexy in incredibly small amounts, I like the idea of fire contained in something so small. If someone walks by me someplace that is otherwise not smoky I will turn the same way as if I smelled nice cologne. I like the smell of bars, it just screams this is me time, have fun.

That being said, I hated kissing the one guy I've been with who smoked, post cigarette. Way overwhelming...and I don't like the way my clothes smell when I'm back in fresh air.

Not moi....I have an allergy to the stuff, He was a heavy smoker but has quit for both our health...he found the only way he can quit is cold turkey. We have used it in play for burning, but now have substituted with the chef mini blowtorch.

Catalina :catroar:

No I don't...but Master does a pack a day I think he said. we'll see how long I can tolerate it....subbie with a migrain is not a happy thing.

Ahh, I just decided to quit this morning (after some turning over in my head for weeks before), because my cough is just getting horrible. I don't even smoke that much... maybe a quarter of a pack a day at average... but my lungs are really taking badly to it. So I gave my last pack to a friend.

I'm hoping this will go okay because I've only been smoking (officially) for a few months, and before that I was actually a successful social smoker for about 3 or 4 years. I started because of all the stress in my life at the time, and although I would like to be able to rely on it to calm me down, the health risks are not practical at this point.

Wish me luck!

Lol, thanks. :)

And it's true... an added benefit of quitting is the cutback on spent money... I live near NY, so cigarettes are hella hella expensive here. A good $7 a pack.... and I could really use that money.

Thanks for the support. :)
