I am always interested in human nature, and therefore how the mind works. I have watched a number of educational/"scientific" shows explaining the various theories that scientists think explain why we dream and the various mechanics of dreaming. One of the theories states that most people don't remember very many, if any of their dreams, even though almost all people do dream (if you don't then you are probably going to be dead in about 6 months if not sooner - the human body requires dreams). The theory is that since dreams use the subconcious/irrational part of the brain, and uses memory in a different fashion, that we don't remember our dreams when we are awake and using the rational part of our brains.
I remember a lot of my dreams the next day or so (sometimes for years), whether they are very emotional whimsical dreams or less emotional run of the mill dreams - for instance I remember the dream I had last night/this morning and the dream I had the night before. I remember much of the premise of the dream and even exactly what I said in the dream (I sometimes talk or even yell in my sleep - much to my neighbors consternation I am sure).
How about you?
