Do You Really Exist?

To the men of Lit?

This is what so many of us women are looking

for. This is what we crave and yearn for. Whether from

our spouses, significant others, lovers ~ real or fantasy.

Does a man who believe this exist?

(Thank you to my dear friend who sent me this poem)

this is what should be said to you by your lover this morning....

waking up to realize
just how much I despise
still another bright sunrise
unable to show me your sweet eyes

next to me in bed I wish
pulling you to me ascloseasthis
delivering a loving kiss
rekindling last night's bliss

far away but in my mind
creating fantasies of this kind
hoping a way I will find
to make you forever mine

Dear Mrs. H,

I am rather new here and have spent quite some time reading various threads this evening. I do want you to know that men like this do exist! Every relationship that I have been in I have poured my heart into. I long for the day in which I get to experience many mind blowing moments with such a woman/lover/friend/companion/mate that can see such a feeling, that would inspire the words that you have picked, radiating from my eyes when I wake to her smile first thing in the morning. For me at least that would be a dream come true. So to answer your question.... Yes, we do exist.

Best of luck in finding your very own morning poet!

Riles, I believe there is no such thing as the "one" or a "soul mate". Every woman is different and special in their own way. Depending on what attracted them to you in the first place. Does it sting to break up? of course it does, but we move on and search again. Sometimes it comes to us, sometimes we have to chase it if we want it. We have memories and try to remember what mistakes were made in past relationships, in order not to make them again

Maybe after I've been with someone till my end of days, will I say, SHE was the "ONE"
I think you mistake my meaning of 'One'.

In my mind the term is simply used for the person who left a mark like no other, for various reasons. It doesn't mean someone can't take their place, or that there is no better fit. It's just a matter of us all having that certain someone up to the current moment that has touched us differently...

who knows what the future holds. Which was essentially my message: you can't pine for that someone and use them as the standard by which you measure all others - what doomed thinking that is! Thankfully, all of us are created differently, and it would be an absolute shame to overlook an amazing person simply because he/she didn't fit the mould of the one that came before.

All that said though, it would be an insult to the heart to not recognize the impact certain people have on our lives, and to me, that is how in this moment, there CAN be a "One".

Not only do I agree with this, but I also can relate first hand.
Just like the saying goes about people leaving tiny footprints on your heart and soul. It is so true, whether a friend, an aquaintance or a lover........

There are no guarantees. But we can always have hope. We all need to feel cherished and we all need to cherish those that have touched our lives in one aspect or another.

Yes this...

I agree with these two.

You never know who will put that indelible mark on our hearts and when that certain someone comes along it's real and it's exhilarating.

But we all deal with the parting of the ways whatever the circumstances were, differently. To move on takes time.

Riles is right in the fact that it is doomed thinking to pine so much that we can't let another in our lives. Yet again it takes time.

Thanks again Mrs.H for this thread it is thought provoking.
