Do You Really Exist?

To the men of Lit?

This is what so many of us women are looking for. This is what we crave and yearn for. Whether from our spouses, significant others, lovers ~ real or fantasy.

Does a man who believe this exist?

(Thank you to my dear friend who sent me this poem)

I reckon we do, Mrs. H. I always wake my lady with a kiss and an "I love you" before I head off to work.

It's just that we tend to bury that awesome guy under so many layers of bullshit, you know? Even when our women assure us that yes, it is really safe for him to come out.

You hit the proverbial nail on the head!! I think there are

so many awesome men (and women) out there and we

just get buried in the bullshit. So afraid to just say here

is the real me, take it or leave it.

Yes I do...;)

Giving this thread a bump while you are away...I hope you get well soon, Mrs. H...:D

Yep, realize I'm a newbie. Yep, new to the discussion boards.

Give me some time and I won't be a newbie any longer.
lol... No, ABreastMan... Jenny was talking about a post I (newbiebabe) made in Mrs. H's crush thread. I explained there that Mrs. H will be out for a bit as she is having some health issues. She sends her love to all and will be back when she is able.

A big oops on my part... now I completely understand (he lowers his head in embarrassment).

Please keep us updated on Mrs H's status.

And it's nice to meet you newbiebabe. :rose:

No need for embarrassment... none at all.

Nice to meet you and I hope you are enjoying your time at Lit.

Thank you. And I am enjoying my time here at Lit. Had read the stories for years but never even thought of joining the discussion forums. And I've been pleasantly surprised in that I have met some of the nicest people here.

Have a nice evening!

I still aspire to be this man. Her legacy lives on as an inspiration.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I wish I could be this man.

I think about things that were prominent in men years ago. Things like honor, valor, noble, and loyal. I think about things like honesty, integrity, high moral character, strong, brazen and trusting. I suppose there are men like that in this day and age. I don't know why I struggle with these things really. I don't have some of the negative things that some men of yester-year had such as stubborn, old fashioned, shallow-minded, sexist, so I guess that's a good thing.

I don't know. You can roll a lot of good qualities into a man, but he'll still come out with some flaws. I do try to be a good man. I try to be true to myself. I want to be better. I strive to be better.

Ricky ..... you seem like an honest man.....this is the first step to being a good man in my eyes. The ability to be honest with yourself and realize that no perfect man exists. You must as you say...be yourself....and take the qualities of others that you value most highly and try to incorporate them into yourself. We are all flawed...this is the one truth which is timeless.

So true, BC, so true. Thinking of her, and this thread, does inspire me to try to be the woman who is worthy of the kind of man she was speaking of. Still missing her...

Me too...I always hope that I am that kind of worthy...I think of her so much... she was the reason I actually stayed...she was one who truly embraced me and was so warm and loving and welcoming...

I wonder if she had any idea the lasting love and impact she had on all of our lives...It is my greatest wish that she is still with us, embracing us and shining down...
