Do you own your body?

I figure by the end of Biden’s first term we’ll have somewhere in the vicinity of 10 million illegal migrants. So who pays for the healthcare? We have a difficult time taking care of our own, homeless on the increase and yet Let everyone come on in. 33 trillion and counting.
They can get insurance under the ACA. And they're here legally.

Sorry that you don't like taxes

Here's a primer on the ACA and legally present migrants

Lol....sounds like you are stuck in your own fearful delusions...so insurance doesn't seem to be your issue.

Biden can’t just continue to take from hard working taxpayers to give to illegals and expect people to stand idly by. Americans deserve first crack at healthcare. You live in a delusional world. You globalist think the US has unlimited resources.

I believe that the government has certain obligations to its citizens....like preventing them from dying from easily preventable diseases....and adhering to the law...such as immigration law.

But you can be afraid of the non white person who is allowed to migrate to our country and those who are able to flee prosecution due to existing law.

Remain in Mexico was legal. Your non-white tripe is delusional but typical. It‘s not immigration it’s an invasion. There is, as we speak, another million migrants in the pipeline. Biden will be gone but his destructive legacy will survive for decades.

It's immigration. As we speak, fox news is showing you a million immigrants on trains that it's telling you is heading this way. (Without any actual proof and you believe it)

He didn't change the law. He just allowed children to not be rejected without trial.

You don't have to like the two party system. But until we have an alternative it's what we have to work with. That's basic reality.

Democrats aren't perfect. Would you rather have the republicans?
"Lesser evilism" is a complete waste of time. Evil is evil.

We should all be voting FOR something, not merely against something. And that something should be to do with big political decisions like economic distribution, class inequality and imperialist wars, not the culture war nonsense.

Democrats doing the bare minimum different on the issues that really matter to people's everyday lives is a big reason why so many millions of Americans are drawn to Trump, as they want to burn the whole house down. Only the socialist left can seriously stop Trumpism. The Democrats are the reason that Trump won in 2016 (plotting to choose Clinton instead of Sanders), and the reason that Trump still has a chance of winning in 2024.

I get it. But again, we have a two party system. We don't have a viable third party. This is our reality. No amount of wishing or hoping or praying will change that. No amount of complaining or gnashing of the teeth will alter that.

You can be pissed off at the democrats. It won't help anything. It won't change anything. A third party won't magically appear because your anger willed it into existence.

The reality is that Americans are letting the politicians get away with this behavior. They aren't involved. They aren't informed. The American "citizen" is asleep at the switch.

I find it ridiculous that you don't realize that democrats are malleable. Much more malleable than the republicans.

You can blame the democrats. It won't help. American citizens have a responsibility - a civic responsibility. And they are shirking that duty.

Again, of by and for the people aren't just words.

As for healthcare, there should be a nationalized healthcare system, funded both federally and by the states, and free at the point of use. There shouldn't be any profit motive in the healthcare system, only caring for the sick and the vulnerable in our communities. How a society treats it's most vulnerable citizens is very instructive, because it shows how politicians and big businessmen would treat the rest of us if they thought that they could get away with it.

Many people agree with you about "two party system", and have chosen to burn the whole house down with Donald Trump, MAGA etc.

The only chance of winning those people back is serious left-wing policies that matter to ordinary people. And I mean big policies, not tinkering around the edges. Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932 started out his election campaign talking about balanced budgets, and ended up with the New Deals that sent big business into a major panic. He won 4 presidential elections in a row, despite big business opposing him in all of them. The Democrats can't even do that now. What FDR did actually saved the capitalist system, otherwise there would likely have been socialist revolution in the US in the 1930s.

Why would the democrats or any politician create any policy when the people aren't involved, aren't informed, aren't voting and don't hold them accountable?

Look into the history before FDR. FDR was doing what was being demanded by the people. Unlike the one before him. Who got the boot. FDR acted because the people were screaming. Our citizens are shopping.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/colom...s-guide-migrants-toward-us-border-report-says

Local politicians have reportedly been charging big bucks per month to help shepherd migrants through a section of the jungle between Colombia and Panama known as the Darien Gap, moving what is estimated to be hundreds of thousands of people so far this year north toward the U.S.-Mexico border.

The New York Times reported Thursday that instead of clandestine human traffickers skirting authorities, politicians, prominent businessmen and elected leaders in Columbia have openly been charging millions of dollars a month on packages promising to transport migrants through the Darien Gap. This is despite the Biden administration and the governments of Columbia and Panama vowing earlier this year to curb the massive migration pattern through that area.

"We have organized everything: the boatmen, the guides, the bag carriers," Darwin Garcia, an elected community board member and former town councilman in Acandi, a Colombian municipality at the entrance to the jungle, told the Times.

Yes, you demonstrate that their bullshit has the proper cattle riled up.

^^^guy who can't figure out how to use lot

He ended it be cause human beings were being put in harm's way. It did not end the backlog (it actually added to it) The problem starts in South America. That's where effort is needed the most.

If Americans didn't want illegal immigrants...they wouldn't hire them. No jobs...no illegal immigrants. Punish those that hire them...issue gone...today if Americans really wanted it gone.

Same is true for any issue facing Americans. These issues exist because it benefits politicians...creating dissention.

To address the original question:

In most legal/political systems, even those that are very "liberal" or expansive in their view of individual rights, nobody owns anything absolutely. You own your house, and you have substantial rights to do what you want with your house, but not unlimited rights. Your rights may be limited by other concerns, such as your neighbors' rights to enjoy their own property. The state may impose building code regulations on your efforts to improve your house, for the purpose of protecting you against your own decisions, or the safety of your guests or those who may buy the house from you.

In the case of a person's body, whether it's a man's or a woman's, the answer regarding one's body, unless you are a consistently radical libertarian, is "substantially, but not entirely."

Do you have a right to an abortion? How extensive is that right? How does the exercise of a right in body ownership affect others?
Do you have a right to consume recreational drugs?
Do you have an unlimited right to determine what medical procedures will be used on your body if you are sick or dying? Same with use of pharmaceutical drugs.
Do you have a right to body modification, like breast implants? What about amputation?
Do you have a right to engage in pornography?
Do you have a right to perform sexual acts for money?
Is your ownership of your body alienable? Can you sell it to someone for money and, say, be somebody's slave for a year?

Many, perhaps most, people do NOT have the same answers to all of these questions. And that means that very few people believe that a woman has an unlimited ownership right over her own body. The question does not allow for an easy answer.

In the case of abortion, I think the answer is yes, a woman has an ownership right in her body that comes into play, but I think it's unrealistic not to deal with the ownership right of a baby in its body. Judgments have to be made about when a fetus becomes a person, and the answer is not obvious. I don't think the answer is the same for a one-month-old fetus as for an eight-month-old fetus.
