Do you own your body?

Ha! That was my first thought when he posted that too.
The fact that you and I think alike about anything is quite frankly disturbing...
Shades of foghorn leghorn… “ a man, a maaaaan”

Oh stop it, you’re far more disturbed than I am, chip

The vaccine versus pregnancy argument is dumb.

Just as the car versus gun argument.

Next up.....gender versus blackness.

more men seeking vasectomies since ruling

On Thursday, the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio said it has seen a "significant increase" in scheduling requests for vasectomies. It usually receives three to four requests a day, but between Friday and Wednesday it had received a total of 90 requests, a spokesperson said.
University Hospitals, also in Ohio, said it has seen a "slight increase in inquiries about vasectomies since the ruling but not necessarily appointments."

Dr. David Robbins, a urologist in North Miami, told local station WPLG that calls have increased so much at his clinic that he is considering coming in on Saturdays to keep up with the demand for appointments.
In Missouri, Dr. Christian Hettinger, a urologist at the Kansas City Urology Care, said his office has been bombarded with calls seeking information on the procedure.
"Since Friday, we’re up 900% in people looking to get a vasectomy,” he told NBC affiliate KSHB-TV.

So... do you own your body or not?

Do you?
A pregnant lady does not just have her body, she has part of the father, and part of the child within her too. With that comes a level of responsibility.

That exists on many levels despite ownership.

For instance, I own my farm, but just because I do, does not mean I can ditch it so 400 acres drains into the basement of my neighbors house. I might own something, but legally and morally I cannot do something on something that I own that impacts another person so drastically. Other examples might include putting up a tower. Yes, I legally own the air rights above my farm, but if I put up a tower, I have to put red lights up so people enjoying flight do not run into it.

Again, it is not just the mother, but part father, and part child. What a wonderful trilogy in the 9 months of pregnancy!

Law is not based upon emotions because emotions are often very fickle. Instead, we base law on what is moral so that when extremely emotional cases are brought before the courts, sound judgement takes place, and is not based upon the emotion of the moment. It is important that we bring these things up BEFORE emotion impairs our judgement.

In this situation, for some it might seem like all is lost, and there is no way they can care for the child after it is born. For some of us though, we have held children, and grandchildren and later marveled in horror, "legally I could have killed this child". It is called maturity, and we know from experience that life has meaning. If you do not believe that, the please tell me how great death is.

We know that many of these mothers who abort, later regret that decision. By using sound judgement up front in cases other than incest, rape, and potential lethality to the mom, that we can save them from a lifetime of regret. Thankfully we live in a world of other options. Better options, like birth control, the morning after pill, and adoption. I myself grew up in an adopted family and know the success of that legality.

And then there is the father. How much regret is saved for him? Can you imagine the anguish of wanting a child, and yet having that choice at life made by another person (the mother). That was what Roe versus Wade was about.

Abortion is so short-sighted. It makes what SEEMS impossible, seem unsurmountable. Its too bad because we have wiped out 63 million potential children. Some of us see the bigger picture, the forest and not just the tree. We have marveled when we drove across a bridge that our daughter has helped engineer and think of what a gift she has helped bring to society all because we chose life instead of abortion.

A lot of the usual anti abortion lies and cult of the fetus fanaticism here.

So, again why can't the government compel organ donation?

Adrina has finally lost her mind to the Great Pineapple.

All US states–by statute, court rule or case law–permit a guardian ad litem to represent the interests of the unborn….and since 1999, murdering a pregnant mother results in 2 murder charges.

So…In the USA, a fetus is treated as a separate entity from the mother…. The mother does not own the fetus, the fetus owns the fetus.

Natural law extends to the American fetus.

American women own their bodies, except the fetus. The American fetus is a separate person at law.

(In Canada, a fetus has no rights until it is born, breathes on its own and the cord is cut)

Edited to add some Star Trek wisdom:

“ you are not of the body! You are not of Landru!”

Looks like Angrina’s problem might be close to being solved. 🩸

“The Food and Drug Administration is devising plans to allow clinical trials testing the transplantation of pig organs into humans, a person familiar with the matter said.

“If the agency follows through, the trials could be a key step in an effort to ease the deadly shortage of human donor organs. The planning comes in the wake of a handful of experimental surgeries involving the transplantation of pig organs into a critically ill man and in brain-dead patients.”

Angina is lean and might be in the clear, but butters et al might want to start carrying their papers.

I've been asking this question for years, I have never got a coherent answer yet:
If EVERYONE has a right to life, what happens when there is a "tie", i.e. you can only save the mother or the newly empowered fetus (ectopic pregnancy comes to mind). Who get the tiebreaker in the event of a tie? Who lives, who dies and who gets to decide? Does the decision depend upon the viability of the fetus?

(Cue BoBo-class word salads).

In most Hospitals, the Administrator would likely save the Mother, for reasons both of liability exposure amount and social/community standards.

In a Court, it could go either way.

Has anyone claimed Angina’s body yet?

luk doesn’t want it anymore, so it’s up for grabs.

Exactly. So if a woman...miscarriages...and let's say it was non-genetic...should it be 2nd degree murder? See...it can't be one without the other. So which is it?
Are you sure you want to voluntarily jump into that oubliette?

Axing for some white coat wearing friends...

This is true but likely only in cases where the mother isn't really viable. The court would weigh the choices between a healthy baby and a brain dead mother and decide which gets to live.

I wouldn't want to make that choice. I could do it, and not have a problem living with myself afterward, but I would prefer not being required to make that choice.

Nashville woman not alone in being denied replacement birth control since r.v.w overturned

The woman shown in the TikTok video said her birth control replacement appointment was canceled the day before Roe v. Wade was overturned. And when she called to find out why doctors told her that they no longer offered the procedure.

After calling other clinics and hearing the same, she posted for help on TikTok. Within minutes she had thousands of likes and commented with about 45 women saying they’ve also been denied birth control procedures from clinics across the US in the past few days.
“It’s not just me, there’s a lot of women experiencing this, and it’s a very real and scary thing for us. Just because it’s not happening to you doesn’t mean it’s not happening.”
