Do you ever reward particularly dedicated fans and if so how?

I am a relatively new writer on Lit having on started publishing this past December before life jumped me in the spring and through the summer. This left two series hanging in limbo.

I had two fans reach out to me during that time. At first asking about the stories but when I shared I was in a rough patch they started checking in to make sure I was ok as a person.

As a thank you I have decided to write them into the series they asked about. Each is just getting a name drop as a former lover for one of the characters. Someone the character remembers very fondly.

So what about you? Every rewarded a fan? If so why and how?

Not fans (yet) but I've had my characters read many a Literotica story. That's more me stanning my favourite authors though ;-)

However, my now editor started a fan who regularly left useful and encouraging comments, so I contacted them to see if they'd like a sneak preview of my work before I submitted it. I hope they see this as a reward!

Early on, I had a fan beg me to write a story to their specs. I did it because their specs worked for my muse, lol.

I've got another fan who's become a best friend, so I wrote her a story as well. It was a gift, and she loved it.

Don’t have dedicated fans either, but my characters debated, and concluded that I’m worse than a gay prostitute.

I don't get a lot of views and I'm slowly gaining followers, but one dedicated follower send me an email telling me how much they love my series. I've wondered how I could reward this person myself, and others should I receive similar feedback in the future.

All I know to do is keep writing and hope my writing improves and I don't completely screw the story up. I could also write a stand-alone story for them as well.

Name drops? I've done that a few times. Why not? It's an easy and private way to say thanks.

Asking a select couple to be beta readers? That, too - win-win.

Like your good self, I also enjoy name dropping nice readers in my stories, and AH denizens too...

Well there was that time that one of my fans DM'd me to say that she was home alone, in bed, and touching herself to one of my stories. Turns out she doesn't live too far away from me. I invited myself over, she opened a bottle of wine and we made love all night long in front of the fire on a sheepskin run.

At least, that's the plan should all of those pieces fall into place.

I have a friend-to call her a fan after all these years is insulting-who had an idea for a dub con story she wanted me to write. Its not my thing, at least as rough as she wanted it, so I turned her down the several times she brought it up. Couple of years ago she was diagnosed with cancer and pulled through but it was a rocky road, and I wrote the story for her.

Another longtime friend here wanted me to base a villain on him. Wanted me to "make him a real asshole who gets killed in a gloriously violent way." He became Jimmy Bellino a Mob Lieutenant who abducted four young girls to sell then into trafficking, and is stopped and tortured to death by a witch who controls fire and is quite talented with knives.

I think even @ChloeTzang would be proud of that death.

LOL. I'll have to go read that one for sure.

I have written quite a few of the AH into one of my stories (A Troll is Haunting Tex's) - and killed a few too LOL - but aside from that, I have written a few readers into my stories here and there by request and one or two are the male protagonists. I won't say who tho, but they know who they are. I find it rather fun, personally, and I enjoy doing it.

Hmm isn't one of them a grandpa or old man? Certain resemblance to an author from the past?

The story I describes is Abigail, it was a 2016 Halloween entry. I pulled it a few years ago to add to it and put it in paperback. I can e-mail you a copy if you want. The scene is in the opening, so you don't have to go far.

Fan isn't the right word, but someone who has been incredibly helpful and supportive of my work, inspired the MMC in one of my stories.
Just a fun way to say thank you.

No fans that I am aware of. I have over 200 followers, but none have contacted me to warrant a "reward". I think though that it is a good idea to mention a fan in some capacity as a "Thank you" for being a loyal follower or fan.

I don't respond to commenters. The only comment I leave on my stories is a "Thanks for all the comments".

I always reply to people who send me a PM. I try engage them in conversation. Most of them just want to let me know that they like my story or stories. Some, I send what I've got for the story I'm currently working on. That's led to a number of people becoming beta-readers for me.

Some people have suggested story ideas for me. I write such convoluted stories that their simple suggestion doesn't get out of the starting block for me. Some people have asked me to write more mother-son stories. As I'm not a big fan of mother-son stories, their request gets a mere "duely noted".

Because I write in I/T, I've never had a reader want to be in one of my stories. Or one of their family members. I think I/T readers want there to be out there somewhere a couple of family members who find each other so attractive that they start having sex, but don't want to imagine themselves or one of their family members doing it. I've requested suggestions for names several times and have always gotten nothing.

I've written several stories for different fans. The Hannah the Whore series started as a Christmas present from one bisexual female to another. Sharing Jill is for a fan who sends me pictures of his wife. The BBW, Katie, Melissa, and Cathy stories were also written for fans. Their fantasies also help keep my writing fresh. Hasn't happened yet with Lit fans, though I'd be open to it if the right idea occurred to me. I did, though, reward one of the very first people ever to compliment my writing. It was a girl I (barely) knew in high school. She was in my AP English class, where I was known as the best writer in the class. The morning after graduation, as I was leaving the all-night grad party she surprised me with a hug and said, "It was great listening to all your stories this year!" That was over thirty years ago and I still remember how wonderful it made me feel!

In my story Chemistry of Love, one of the protagonists is a fan of a romance writer who seems to write a lot of stories like my Lit romances, only with even more purple style. I named that writer after the girl from English class.
