My lunch hour just got extended when I channel surfed from the news to the Sally JR show. She had one of those shows where they unite long lost families...

Damn those shows bring tears to my eyes....

P.S. Don't forget to tell your family you love them :)

I'm a man, I never cry. Its just that I have been peeling onions while watching some of these shows.

hehe I do too. But I even cry at strangers' weddings on tv and baby births, and even that old McDonald's commercial where there are a bunch of little kids dressed up in yellow rain slickers and hats marching along like little ducks to McDonald's. Don't ask me why, I don't know. They're just so cute.

Reunion shows are very touching. The adoption reunions have a special place in my heart since my adoption search played such a big part in my life. Oddly enough, when I finally met two of my sisters and my birthmother several years ago, there were no tears at all, just a wonderful feeing of FINALLY being home.

While I think re-unions are nice... It is something that should be special and private, not telecasted for the world to see for ratings.
I think that just degrades them.

So I have yet to cry at a re-union show.

I would have felt very uncomfortable being onstage during my reunion with my family. It was a very special, very private thing for me, and I would think the stress of having so many people watching your first reactions would just add to the stress you already feel at a reunion, but that's just me.

Reunion shows can be helpful if the two parties are so far apart geographically they can't financially afford to meet up (the shows generally pay for their tickets), and if they've used certain reunion services, they may have to sign a waiver agreeing to meet onstage.
