i'm torn on the issue

he lies, day in, day out, no question - but i don't know if it's pathological or the result of having got away with it so often (probably even from childhood) and it paying off for him that he just doesn't give a damn. he'll say whatever he wants to say; he knows the press will be all over it, and whilst it's not damaging his core votes he gets some kind of control over what the press covers on a daily basis as they attempt to keep truth in front of the public.

i also think he speaks out without having done his homework or listened to those who DO know briefing him - because he's convinced he knows best and his is the only voice that matters.
