Do You Believe in Magic
Lovin' Spoonful (who, odds would be greatly in favor of, never EVER imagined the other magic that the people here at Lit will read into these lyrics)

Do you believe in magic in a young girl's heart
How the music can free her, whenever it starts
And it's magic, if the music is groovy
It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie
I'll tell you about the magic, and it'll free your soul
But it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout rock and roll

If you believe in magic don't bother to choose
If it's jug band music or rhythm and blues
Just go and listen it'll start with a smile
It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try
Your feet start tapping and you can't seem to find
How you got there, so just blow your mind

If you believe in magic, come along with me
We'll dance until morning 'til there's just you and me
And maybe, if the music is right
I'll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night
And we'll go dancing, baby, then you'll see
How the magic's in the music and the music's in me

Yeah, do you believe in magic
Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl's soul
Believe in the magic of rock and roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
Ohh, talking 'bout magic

Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe, believer
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic

Thank you. That song doesn't just cling to a person's brain. :p

I've shivered after reading your initial post due to the fact I was singing this song when I saw the title of your thread. :)

I've always loved this song. A couple days ago, while reading "Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates" a certain section of the book made me think of it. But, since I first heard this song (much to many years ago) it has often popped up willy nilly into my consciousness.

Yes, very much so. I truly do believe in magic.

I can remember feeling this magic when I would hear the music start and then feeling my body start to move to the rhythm of the beating drums. There were times I didn't think I would be able to stop dancing. I would be completely drained by the end of the night and wondered how I would be able to make that walk home.

These magical times were the dances I used to go to when I was younger. The magic of the evening - the music, the boys, the lighting that was strung across the dance floor. This was all outside and the scents of the night air filled with the many flowers that lined the walkways was just so awesome to even be able to describe properly.

That was magic as far as I was concerned. Thank you for the memories, Dillinger.

Enchanted :rose:

Gawd... I'm such a housewife! I heard the song playing in my head as soon as I saw the title, but it was the one from a (laundry soap?)commercial, not the original.

Then, I got a visual of a pic I have of my sisters and I when I was about 5 all wearing lovin spoonfuls tshirts.

I love the song, Dilly, thanks for postin it.

Do you believe in magic in a young Lit girl's heart
How the words can free her, whenever it starts
And it's magic, if the posting is groovy
It makes you feel happy like an pornographic movie
I'll tell you about the magic, and it'll free your posts
But it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout our Lit hosts

If you believe in magic don't bother to choose
If it's jug boobs tits or cock and balls
Just log on, it'll start with a smile
It won't wipe the cum off your face no matter how hard you try
Your fingers start typing and you can't seem to find
How you got here, so just blow your mind

If you believe in magic, come along with me
We'll fuck until morning 'til there's just you and me
And maybe, if the posting is right
I'll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night
And we'll go dancing, baby, then you'll see
How the magic's in the posting and the poster is me

Yeah, do you believe in magic
Yeah, believe in the magic of a Lit girl's soul
Believe in the magic of post and poll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
Ohh, talking 'bout magic

Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe, believer
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic

Tomorrow night? I think I'm free then. ;)

No... tonight...

Tonight... tonight... won't be just any night...
