do you believe in ghosts?

The Sixth Sense ghosts are the worst IMO. They're so real and most seem to kinda be dicks. I mean who fucks with an already disturbed kid like that? Coulda re-titled "Making of a Serial Killer."

In the real world I often hear my name when I'm alone in house. It's always a little troubling because I can never tell if I actually heard it or not but the fact that it has happened quite a few times sorta says I did. Probably just a weird creak or groan in the house but that's not nearly as fun.

When you hear your name do you ever answer it?

Well angels were here before the days of creation. They aren't the same as humans. While the angels are messengers, It sounds like your dealing with a lot of ticked off fallen angels or demons. Seems they are letting someone know they are not thrilled to be here.;) Oh and they have free will to choose who they want to follow.

now you're discerning good and evil. remember, the fallen angels were still angels and Lucifer was god's favorite. i have a fundamentalist sister who, every time i tell her about some occurrence (i have a lot of them) equates it with demons. i, on the other hand, never have any feelings of fear or danger. if anything, i feel sad. i think they're stuck in a place, rather than focusing on any human target. i've never been afraid and on 2 occasions i felt really elated afterward. and demons are simply the old gods, renamed by christians, to make them repellent. the elementals may be pissed off by our intrusion but why wouldn't they be?

on several occasions i've heard my name called while in a sound sleep and wakened up. my mother always said that it was because someone i cared about needed me, she had the same experiences.

I’ve never seen one. I’ve had people close to me die and have thought I’ve seen them out of the corner of my eye. I’ve always thought that was my mind playing tricks on me, you get used to seeing someone. Other than that I haven’t. My wife can feel the presence of a spirit. Also there was a house on our street that three families that lived there over the years And a couple house guests said they saw ghosts, and they all saw the same things.

You know I probably don't take it seriously enough. My mother in law has a best friend that I have gotten to know well over the years. She is part of a ministry that goes in and clears out your house if, I guess, it is inhabited by demons. My sister is along that line about demons. I take the philosophy that if you don't let them get to you they eventually will go away. I really don't think about them. I don't think a lot about having a guardian angel either. Maybe I should.

I just find it kind of interesting that although we may not believe they are the names people have given to them, there is still a phenomenon that we all describe. Except those that don't believe it at all.

So, curiosity is getting me. What are your encounters like????

Personally I love science...go science!!!! We both don't have proof. It looks like you have a lot of faith in science just like I do in God.

my faith in science is because, historically, science has continued to prove stuff exists we didn't know about or were unable to understand as natural phenomena. it is because of its track record, including its rejection/amendments of old scientific understandings given new data/better equipment, that i can place faith in science and have reasonable expectations that it will go on to reveal more and more about our world, our universe. love me some hubble telescope :)

to date, i see no empiric data or evidence that proves god, as understood by christianity (or any other religion) exists so have no faith. your faith is based on your beliefs and understandings, and a choice you make to believe in something unprovable. i have no problems with people choosing religious faith, i really don't, just so long as that doesn't get in the way of accepting science for the valuable tool it is...and you embrace science, so yay!

Why does Lucifer get all the power? He's no longer Gods favorite so shouldn't he be on equal footing with the other fallen angels? Like can't they kick his ass for getting them all stuck in Hell and take over and turn the place into Hedonism II or something?

Thor has the power. The Norse one, not the movie asshole.
