Do you believe in destiny/fate?

Yes. I don't believe in coincidence.

I think there is a purpose for everything we do. Maybe not in every aspect in life... but coincidence can't be the blame for everything.

I absolutly believe in fate... and it is not always kind

I believe . . .

That everything happens for a reason.

Fate controls the universe.
(I also believe in Karma.)

Reincarnation is up in the air for me though.

Do you think you can change your own destiny/fate or will all roads lead you back to one?

I am a true believer in destiny and or fate. I believe that the general track your life will take is mapped out for you ahead of time. You may not know why things happen today, until 5 or 10 years from now. Or, you may know tomorrow. Now, that doesnt include the tiny things - like stubbing your toe in the middle of the night. Just the more important aspects.

I have met my true life-long soul mate here at Lit. She and I compliment each others lives the way only soul mates can. And our meeting was anything but normal or ordinary. It was just pure dumb luck. I call that fate/destiny. This has reconfirmed my beliefs of your life being pre-planned.

I have said my piece. I shall go quietly now.

No I don't...because I don't like the idea of not having control over my life.

Can't change a thing

Destiny will win in the end. No matter how one tries to avoid it, they may not realize it, but fate catches up with us all.

(Doom and Gloom):(

YBAvg. that is so sweet. Finding true love is the best part of fate and soul searching.:)

I believe that Destiny's Child is Fated to disappear soon-like. And I don't have the authority to change it.

Thanks Mona. Truly I have never been happier in my life. And I owe it all to fate!! How can I not believe in it??

I believe that we have a pre-determined path from birth to death.. but we can alter the path a little here and there, with the little decisions we make along the way. I believe there is a higher power, whether or not we call him God is pointless... I believe that higher power put us individually here with a plan on how our lives will be... but we can make decisions here and there that affect how the ending goes.

I believe I am the way I am for a reason.. I can either stay this way.. or I can kick my ass in gear and make things happen.

Like.. my mom was put into existance.. the higher power knowing that she would die at 55 years of age... and that I would lose my mom at 25 years of age.. and that my kids would lose their grandma at 6 & 7 years of age... BUT it's not set in stone whether I mourn for all eternity, or accept what happened and move on with my life ASAP.

I belive in it yes along the lines of what Lickerish said

our lives our planed out in steps this will happen this will happen this will happen.... now this don't mean we don't have controle, all the stops are planed out but the way we take to get there is up to us, and when we get there. but we will get to that point the only part that IS certin is the date we will die and the date we were born. everything else is shadowie and can chage partialy and depending

Why or why not?

hmm i'm not totally sure, i mean at times it does seem your life is heading in a certain direction for a specific reason, but then it can pull a total 360* turn and head off in anothere direction.

But i do more so believe in past lives, personally i can predict something that will happen that day or it could be days away but will come true, which is creepy, like my girlfriend and myself, at times, we know what the other is doing or thinking, or had happen to then with out being around or knowing of it before hand, were trying to find a good psychic to go to, to verify all of this :rose:

I don't believe in either fate or destiny. I believe in the random chaos of life. Sometimes the randomness can cause a confluence of events that we attribute to the term coincidence. I don't think there is some guiding hand, but that we determine and guide our own paths.

Not in every aspect of life but yes..in some areas things are pre-determined.

I tend to think things you do in life.. things you say, the way you react to certain events, they way you treat other people.. All of that helps decide your fate.

I believe in fate and in destiny. However, I believe that destiny is something that we choose. We can say that our destiny is to be whatever we want to be. Fate determines whether or not it is meant to be.

I too believe everything happens for a reason. It may be designed by a Creator, or a product of the balance of the universe, I'll let you know on John Edward's show when I'm dead.
How do I explain;
*Missing a training mission with my combat team for family reasons. The EC-135 went down with no survivors.
*Having a feeling not to go on a motorcycle run with the club. The guy I would be riding alongside crashes, and loses a leg. About five riders in his vicinity receive major injuries.
*Going left at a light instead of going straight, a few minutes later a horrific wreck occured where I would have been.

I have learned so much from these experiences, that my overall view of life has changed radically. I've more or less slowed my desire to shape my life by society's rules. I now "go with it" when a experience presents itself. It could be a job, or a chance encounter with someone new. I feel less pressure to compete, and my life is doing fine. :D

I do believe in destiny/fate but more along the lines of... There are major steps in your life that cannot be avoided, but the smaller steps are of your own choosing. You can choose the small steps you take and affect things like: Who you will be with, Where you go, What you will be doing and things like that, but no matter what individual choices they will lead to something predetremined like marriage, divorce, children, life altering events and finally death.

I believe

Have done something or been somewere that you know you never have been or seen but you feel like you have done it.

The simplest illustration: A card game.Destiny is the hand we are dealt, & Free Will is how we play it.

I believe that our lives are pre-destined. Everything important happens for a reason. Yes, we can change the little things, but in the end, you always end up back on the pre-planned path. I also believe in reincarnation and that we keep coming back to learn new lessons.
