My wife and I were browsing through a pharmacy and came across two products that claimed to enhance female sexual desire and performance. The names of the products were Zestra and Finally. We wanted to try one, but they were very expensive. So I thought I would check here before we bought any.

Have any of you used these products and would you care to share your results? All replies will be appreciated, but I imagine that ladies will be more qualified to comment.

I've never heard of those products.

But I have heard of a product called "Hot Plants". I believe that they have different formulas for men and women (but I'm not sure).

The story I saw about it on one of those news magazine shows asked some doctors about it. And, all of the doctors that they interviewed stated that all of the herbal ingredients (especially combined) could most likely boost one's sex drive.

But, the only place that I know for sure that you can get it is online.

I've heard of Finally.
They advertise it on the Women's Entertainment chn.

If it has benzo____ anything in it, drop it and walk the other way, its a numbing agent.
I say give it a try and report back.

But use a little of it, and let her play with a toy with it first.
Some of these jells/creams/pills/foams *breath* sponges/sprays etc... either just numb or make the walls of the vagina swell to almost a painful extent.

Anything for "her pleasure" usually means swelling unnaturally.
anything for "his pleasure" usually means numbing.
anything that suggests "heat" ... isn't a great idea at all.
if it says "last longer" there is the numbing again.
spanish fly type products irritates your urinary tract causing lots of itching.

I'm just giving ya fair warning... try everything once right?

though it could just be an oil baised lube - in that case it eats away at condoms, and has the potential to become tacky, sticky, foamy, and dry.
but if you read the package and it is simply a water based lube (line it up with say... a bottle of WET or another SAFE water based lube -- NOT KY) and if it checks out -- it should be safe and sane to use.

BlueSugar, why do you say "not KY"? My husband and I really dislike the stuff; we much prefer the WET brand, and especially the Wet Platinum. What is it about the KY that you dislike?

Hmmm...I couldn't find "Finally" but did find Zestra at http://www.zestraforwomen.com .

The ingredients are a "proprietary blend" of: PA Free Borage Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Angelica Extract, Coleus Extract, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and natural fragrances.

One thing I've noticed and heard experts talk about is that the directions on all of these potions are essentially the same..."massage the cream/oil onto the clitoris, labia and around the vagina for 3-15 minutes." Now massaging the clit for 3 minutes is likely to produce arousal for most women anyway, especially with some lube, so does the potion really work, or is it just a justification to get stimulation?

All of these products also claim to have evidence and studies to back up their assertions. But what were the women who took part in the studies told about the product and the placebo they were given? If you tell a person this potion is going to produce arousal, psychology will likely have a huge effect on the results.

I don't know, DarkLover, but I have a feeling your money would better be spent on some good lube, toys, and a romantic evening or vacation. :)

I agree with Erika on this. From the sounds of it she may actually be taking in most of what's in there anyway if she uses body lotion, bath oil and takes a multivitamin so I'd think it'd have more to do with the rubbing action.

At the moment, the only real leading authority on science and sex is the Kiesey Institute (I know I spelled that wrong so if someone can come along and give the correct spelling I'd appreciate it...I can pronounce it though "Key-z"). So unless a herbal sexual remedy claims a study by them it probably wasn't much of a study.

Maybe try a water based lube (I prefer Platinum) and run your own scientific experiment rubbing her for 30 minutes with it and see if you get similar results to what they claimed. ;)

The Kinsey Institute. http://www.kinseyinstitute.org/ :) I trust other sources, but scrutinize very carefully. I also noticed the Zestra website advertised being in The New Your Times and talked about by several sex experts, but the article and experts were not an endorsement or evidence to support it works...they simply mentioned the product in a passing reference. Suspect.

Thanks Erika

Cleopatrica's Secret

is a kama sutra product... ya rub it around the clit for a few and becomes an amazing sensation and is safe -- unlike some other ones made out there that just burn ya to death. (and cheap)
I don't know what chemical is good or bad ... but if these two products you speak of come some reconmended it could be ok. I bet if you called the 800 number they would send a free sample of sorts that would be fun.

KY wasn't made to be a sexual lubricant. Its made for a quick in out medical procedure for various exams. People use it anyway - so they market it anyway.

It becomes tacky and sticky and dried up so that it needs to be reapplied over and over. No matter what form it is in.

Its nasty stuff and usually doesn't have a good report from anyone. :)

Wow, thanks for the info, everybody. My wife and I were really curious because she has a hard time reaching orgasm. Normally she has to have stimulation from a vibrator, and we wish it were easier than that.

I'll check the products again and see what's in them. Without any proof, though, we won't invest the $21.99 that Zestra was selling for (for only a few applications)!

Some women, including me, just need more stimulation, and vibes are a great option. I think we often fall into the mindset that there's something wrong with that, when we should be thankful we're having orgasms, and savor every single one no matter where it came from. I know that can be frustrating and lead to some feelings of inadequacy for our partners, but the proof is in how much they turn us on and how very close they can get us. If you haven't done so already, read Try this and Report back, and perhaps have her read a really good story or two while you're stimulating her...both have worked well for us. :)

I've tried "Finally"

Unfortunately, I would not recommend it. The pricey, tiny tube only had a white cream (looks and smells similar to anti-fungal creams, to be honest) that could be used two, maybe three, times.
I spread some on my clit and inner lips like the instructions said, and all I noticed was a little warming sensation---not unlike the "love salves" Kama Sutra makes, only the salves are a lot more powerful (it can hurt terribly if you put it on a roughed-up nipple).
Frankly, "Finally" did nothing for me, and the warming tingle wore off in less than two minutes.
My thought was that they were advertising for women who had no idea they could get a tingle down there (and growing up in a Mormon town, as one of the few non-Mormons, I can say there are indeed women who do not know their bodies).
I would suggest you save your money, my friend. Don't buy "Finally"!

go natural

I've been reading this thread, and have to offer an easy alternative - ginger. Go to your grocery store, buy an uncut hand of ginger, cut off a bit, slice off all the peel, run it under water, and there you are. Should run you less than $3. You'll see ginger talked about in terms of 'figging' - ginger up the ass - but a slice on the clit, held there for a while, and things will definitely heat up! You can remove it if it's too much, or press harder if you want more of a burn feel - it wasn't an overwhelming heat, and it develops gradually, so you can stop when you like, and wash off with just soap & water. Give it a try, anywhere you want - plus it tastes good!
