I have romance stories posted under a different nickname. When they were first posted I received a lot of feedback.
Now I’ve posted in the Loving Wives category and I received zero feedback on my second chapter, even though it was liked well enough to stay within the last pages of the top list.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Are people less likely to comment on stories that are maybe more risqué or controversial than the basic boy meets girl, and they live happily ever after?
It’s discouraging not to get any comments. How can a writer improve if no one tells him where he erred? I don’t think I’m a bad writer. I’ve had one work published in a small literary magazine and had some complimentary rejections (hey, ya gotta see the silver lining). So I ask you, are story comments on the decline or is it me or is it the genre?
