Do readers usually look at the author's profile before reading that author's story?

In the Loving wives genre, I will quite often look at the author's profile, and some of the other stories they have written, then look at the tags. If I don't like the smell, I will not read the story. However, if I got tricked into reading it because the author didn't tag it properly, I will then be the asshole that I hate, and rip the author a new asshole, but not anonymously. Please tag your stories properly. I will not read your story and trash it if you tag it properly.
With only ten tags, how on earth do you expect any author to tailor them especially for your dislikes?

"Tricked into reading"? That's a bit precious. You're on an adult website, not junior high. Surely you can just back key and leave without loosing your lolly?

98% of the profiles here don't contain anything of value. Why should they? They're all pen names.

The author's story list tells me more about them than their profile almost every time.

Sounds much like an excuse to be an asshole by an asshole. Tricked, what makes you think they wanted to trick you into being a jerk? You don't need to continue reading when you realize it isn't for you. Leaving your pen name doesn't make you an honorable asshole, just an ordinary ole jerk.

I will look at all my new followers profiles to see if they have written anything I'd like?

I read stories based upon the titles; not tags or categories. If the title catches my attention I read the story. Sometimes I regret it, but rarely leave the story until the end. If it is off-putting I just don't score or leave a remark. I can think of at least two stories I left after a prolonged read and finding it going no where in particular. I didn't fault the writer just moved on to other works.

I read the story, usually based on title and tagline. Then, if the story was good, I'll check the profile to see what else they wrote that I might be interested in.
