Do only bold and italic HTML tags work in submissions?

A person on the How To forum suggested I try this board for advice.

I tried blockquote - not really crucial, but I was curious to see if it did anything. It didn't.

I used to know some CSS but I guess that is not relevant to the system here.

Depends on how you submit them.

In theory, most-if-not-all html tags work, but if you send tags inside of a .doc and Laurel has to convert the document, the html tags will often be treated as text. If you want your html tags to work, you need to contact Laurel directly (by pm on the forum) to let her know in advance AND put special notes warning her in the actual submission.

If you tag your document and paste the body into the submissions form, you should be able to see what it will look like before you hit that final submit button.

As indicated in another recent thread, lots of information on formatting has been discussed here: How much HTML/CSS can you put into a story?

Thank you, I will check that link.

I have been submitting by pasting text into the submission box, not by sending a .doc. The italics and bold have worked fine.

I didn't realize that the preview screen might not be what you see/is what you get. It certainly looked accurate enough so far.

Try reading your submission on the LIT Android app and note what formatting achieves.
