Do not knit a hat with a cat in your lap.

Aside from being a rhyming disaster, it's just awkward. Zoe (the cat in my sigline) owns me, basically. My lap is not mine; it belongs to her. She really likes to sit on me when I am working on a project, especially one that involves yarn. So I have to give her a piece of yarn for her very own, so she doesn't try to attack the yarn that is becoming the hat. Also, if I move too much, or in the wrong direction, she will bite me to let me know that I am being a substandard lap. So I knit furtively. I knit covertly. I knit very slowly.

But the hat is growing, and if I'm lucky it will be done tonight. With the loving support of my cat, of course. It just wouldn't be the same if I didn't have to sacrifice life and limb to get it done.

i suppose that's her iBook in your sig, too? (i'm asuming it's an iBook)

I bet you can't repeat your thread title 6 times out loud without screwing it up.:D

My cat insists its ok to try and sit in my cereal every morning......

We want pics of the hat... and the cat... and the Cat in the Hat.:D

I might be able to arrange for some visuals. The hat is a birthday present for a fellow Litizen, though, so I don't want to post pics before it arrives in the mail. I'll do it after that, though.

Would you eat them in a boat? Would you eat them with a goat?:D

I"m guessing the even larger hazard would be to get a bit confusd while knitting and ending up with a cat-hair hat and one bald, pissed-off cat....

Cats make me sneeze.

With a goat.

Oh no! I was wondering, and worrying about that. I hope it doesn't become the sneeze hat because of the proximity with which it was knitted!
