Do mods ever police reader comments?

The message appears in your submissions area for recent activity e.g. comments left and favorites, even after the comment has been deleted.

The deleted comment itself has continued to appear in my submissions area after it's been deleted, but I've never seen a message from anyone there (or anywhere else) saying that it was deleted or why.
