Certified Massage Therapist.

I've been doing it once a week. My skin has never been softer. It's lavender scented.

Be very careful not to get any in your mouth.

Have you heard that old saying 'Go through you like a dose of salts'?

Yeah.

Actually, the recipe is epsom salts, bleach and Mr. Bubble. Just don't get it in your eyes...

And then about 12 pumps of a good moisturizer all over afterwards. Always moisturize.

I think it qualifies for the appellation "Old Wives Tale."

A soak in epsom salts will draw excess fluid through the skin and reduce swelling in the feet. I don't know of any benefit to a physically fit person.

I just learned to get used to a certain amount of discomfort. The pills didn't help, and neither did any soak, save for stretching my back in a very hot shower.

Stretching religiously is the only thing I have found to be of any extended benefit, but you must stick with it.

i'm a terrible athlete - i almost never stretch, before or after.
doesn't matter if i'm lifting weights or playing a game, i just never bother with it.
i don't drink much water, either.

luckily i'm not much of a complainer either, this thread is about all the bitching i'll do about soreness and pain

Do you do the cat/cradle exercises? And the one arm on the wall and in with your hips exercise? Every morning and every night for me. I take celebrex when the pain in my back is too much. A soak in the bath might help, but when I'm really sore I won't dare get in the tub.

I'm very flexible and strong pound for pound, but I don't stretch with any consistency, and I am dragging around a lingering hip cramp. I get it stretched out sometimes, so it doesn't hurt, and then I celebrate when it stops by . . . that's right . . . quitting my stretching regimen.

Go figure.

I have a set of stretches that a physical therapist gave to a friend of mine which I am starting with. See above for how long it's likely to go on.

I guess when I give up on starting and stopping, I'll then start and stay started.

Are you trying to kill him?

Funny you should ask, as my husband is currently soaking in a bath of Epsom, after moving heaving equipment all day.
I use it, as I have RA. Does it help? Unsure. But I do know that it is relaxing.
Epsom salts have magnesium, which most of us lack. Magnesium is better tolerated through the skin than orally.

Epsom salts works for inflammation in the body for whatever ails you.

And also for softer skin.
