Do Democrat extremists even exist?

Thing is, Democrat "extremists" are mostly concerned with culture-war issues -- and the most extreme positions on those are essentially harmless, and tolerable to the PTB, as they do not threaten the distribution of wealth or the social order. Same-sex marriage is entirely compatible with capitalism.

Some few are different -- but not even Sanders and AOC and the Progressive Caucus are really extremists, or even leftists. They are what in other countries would be called social democrats -- a vigorous welfare state and a redistributive tax system, within capitalism.

Let us hear no more ever again of "radicalized Democrats." No such thing exists.

But this one is not about "extremist Dems" posting on the PB. I am, rather, denying their existence anywhere.
An extremist will deny that their opinion is extreme. There is nothing anyone can say to convince them otherwise.

There is a definite objective standard here -- and it is the world's standard, not America's. Social democrats are not considered extremist anywhere else, and should not be so considered here. And even social democrats are outliers in the Democratic Party. Anybody further left than that is to be found in some other party.

In other news, everyone has an opinion. This is literally down to an individual perspective. We agree on some things. We disagree on others. If everyone was an extremist, then no one would be. But at the end of the day, an individual can look at what someone has said and think, "Hmm, that's an extreme take."

An "extreme" statement is colored by the perspective of the individual reading it.

@RoryN.

Any POV from which Sanders or AOC were classified as "extremist" would be completely insane. Any POV from which Obama or Biden were classified as "extremist" would be intellectually disabled -- on order with a bumper sticker I saw in the Clinton years, reading "CLINTON FOR CHANGE," with the C's rendered as hammers-and-sickles.

Opinions matter.
