I was wondering if anyone knows if babies are aware if you're doing it in the same room and if so at what age? is it traumatic for them?

Infants would not be aware of what’s going on. However, past three to six months old children begin to become curious and mimic the world around them. If you are talking about a child accidentally walking in, well take it from me that happens. But, if you have a child in your room past six months old he may develop a learned behavior. The child won’t necessarily become traumatized but may very well mimic motions and sounds. This will undoubtedly raise questions from those around you.

BTW I’m certainly no expert. But I have had some training in child development. I’m sure you will find an difference in opinion.

thanks for the info i guess it's time to give james his own room as he is almost 5 months and i certainly dont need his first words to be spank your bad girl lol (not that i've had a chance to say that recently but i'd like to think i'll get to eventually ) luckily he's not even walking yet but when he is i wonder if i should soundproof the room.....how old are your kids?

7, 10 and 14. All three were in our bedroom til they were six months old and there were no problems. My biggest problem was explaining the pictures I was downloading on the internet when they woke up and walked in the den in the middle of the night.

oh god...do i even want to know of what they were? How did you work around the kids to keep your sex life good?

I don't know about it being good. But I'm what you might call an early riser. I wake the wife up early in the morning and make sure the door is locked. Otherwise we try and get away once in a while.

We haven't been caught in years. Keeping the door locked has resolved that issue. When we did get caught we were luckily under the covers. We were able to tell my daughter we were playing. She was young enough to accept our explanation for face value.
