DIY Surgery

Hehehe
Didn't you know that super - glue was originally developed for field surgery???
Indeed indeed... Fell out of practice though because it worked too well and they couldn't get the wounds open without causing more trauma... Mainly they use(d) it as a "get it closed - get them outta there" type thing...
ANd its been reintroduced as a "instead" of stitches thingy....

My son cut open his eyebrow and forehead on a wire fence one time. The school called me to get him, saying he needed stitches. I brought him home, cut tiny butterflies from Duct tape to close the cut, and used a dab of Crazyglue in the one spot... healed up without a scar, which disappointed him. Duct tape is one of nature's miracles!

And I'm mentioning once more that Duct tape kills warts. But before I found that out, I tried cauterizing the one on my thumb with a soldering iron, I was so damn sick and tired of the thing. :D

I just cut mine off with a kitchen knife. I was really aggravated that day...

Given the fact that the majority of my family on my mom's side are paramedics or nurses, and my granparents ran a rescue squad, which my mother was in for most of her life and I had earned a junior paramedic...

I don't think I should recant all the home emergencies we handled without ever seeing a doctor >.>

I worked a wreck once where a banadged a girl's head and tried to calm her down while my mom tried to get the other girl conscious... does that count in there also?

Also, my granny thinks orejel is a magical cure all using it on everythign from ingrown toenails to cuts and scrapes to other questionable uses. We used to make fun of her with: "Hey! I got a rusty nail in my foot! where's the orejel?"

How does Duct tape get rid of warts? My kids have planters warts year round from the pool where they are getting their lifeguard certificates

Reminds me of the dad on "Big Fat Greek Wedding" windex was a cure all for him!
My husband always says get the windex anytime something goes off kilter around here.
