Radical simply means "grasping things at the root."

To understand how any society functions you must understand the relationship between the men and the women.

We have to talk about liberating minds as well as liberating society.

It is in collectivities that we find reservoirs of hope and optimism.

I don't think we have any alternative other than remaining optimistic. Optimism is an absolute necessity, even if it's only optimism of the will, as Gramsci said, and pessimism of the intellect.

Listen, everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Not only does society suffer from racism and sexism but it also suffers from ageism. Once you reach a certain age you’re not allowed to be adventurous, you’re not allowed to be sexual. I mean, is there a rule? Are you supposed to just die when you're 40?

I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art.

I stand for freedom of expression, doing what you believe in, and going after your dreams.

I think you can be defiant and rebellious and still be strong and positive.

WildViolet, I like your post on “Girls Trip.” There are so few movies about women and even fewer movies showing the interaction of women in a group. My favorite such movie is “Stage Door” (1937). It is a great story about women living in a boarding house. Here is a still from the movie: http://www.altfg.com/film/wp-conten...katharine-hepburn-ginger-rogers-eve-arden.jpg. It was nominated in 1938 for Best Picture and Andrea Leeds was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Also, see here for other pictures and other information: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029604/.

Grow a pair of ovaries.. ;) they produce testosteron too. So it's a male And female hormone.

From BodyLogicMD
" Testosterone for women is produced in the ovaries and the adrenal glands. The ovaries function to help produce testosterone even after menopause."
...
What Purpose does Testosterone serve in Women?
Testosterone in women has many functions. It is important for bone strength and development of lean muscle mass and strength. Testosterone also contributes to overall sense of well-being and energy level.

It is best known for its crucial role in a woman's sex drive or libido. More specifically, testosterone in women is responsible for the sensitivity of a woman's nipples and clitoris associated with sexual pleasure. Testosterone not only enhances the sexual mood of a woman, but the experience as well."

Grace O’Malley was a real female pirate born on the west coast of Ireland c. 1530. She commanded ships with male crews. According to the book “The True Story of Grace O’Malley, Ireland’s Pirate Queen” by Anne Chambers “She was married twice, divorced once, took a lover when she wanted, and gave birth to one of her sons on the deck of her own ship.” Here is and image of her in action: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.co...-pirate-illustration-vintage-illustration.jpg and here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8z48fxGJSE about her (a little more than 9 minutes long).

Moonlight and Roses,

Throughout history many women have served in or along with the military and maybe more so in times of war. Examples are of women nurses and women in support roles. While not all of these women may have actually been in combat, they often were in danger and close to the front lines. But women have also served directly in combat. One of the major cases of this were the female soldiers of the Soviet Army in World War II. A great example was the Russian female pilots of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment. In total they dropped 23,000 tons of bombs on enemy targets and were called “Nachthexen” or “Night Witches” by the Germans. They flew light outdated biplanes at night, with no radios and no parachutes. As the approached their targets they would cut their engines and glide to the point where they would drop their bombs. The only indication that they were coming was a whooshing sound and then the explosion of the bombs. Here is a picture of five of the pilots: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/f7/e3/f2/f7e3f2d1290f40ede7ba2625d57ad6ad.jpg.

Moonlight and Roses,

Maud Watts: “Dear Inspector Steed. I thought about your offer, and I have to say no. You see, I am a suffragette after all. You told me no one listens to girls like me. Well I can’t have that anymore. All my life, I’ve been respectful, done what men told me. I know better now. I’m worth no more, no less than you. Mrs. Pankhurst said, ‘If it’s right for men to fight for their freedom, then it’s right for women to fight for theirs.’ If the law says I can’t see my son, I will fight to change that law. We’re both foot soldiers, in our own way. Both fighting for our cause. I won’t betray mine. Will you betray yours? I you thought I would, you were wrong about me. Yours sincerely, Maud Watts.” Portrayed by Carey Mulligan in the 2015 film “Suffragette."

Moonlight and Roses,

Stepping into the shower
hot water already steaming the mirror
Midday skies and steady rain as dark as twilight

Is this the moment when all things change?

Early evening in my nation’s capital
and the votes have been cast.
This stain will never be erased.

I cannot get clean now.

It was a summer’s day,
like many other days
and after one of my three jobs that summer,

I went to the pool to swim laps
I know the date.
Because I filed a police report afterwards.

But. They told me I would not be believed.
Because I had worked for a women’s clinic
during the height of anti-abortion protests
and because I had lived with a man to whom I was not married.

And so… even though I had managed to survive
being raped by three men
and I knew where at least one of them lived
the prosecutor would not advance my case.

I cannot get clean now.

The water runs over my body.
I think back over how many years it has been.
The hair on my head…
those men never touched any of the hair I have now.
My skin…
it has since been replaced by all new cells.
So they have not touched a bit of who I am now.

I cannot get clean now.

The sounds of my president
mocking an assault survivor ring in my ears
A man of unsuitable judicial temperament
will now sit on the bench
for the rest of my life
someone who is entitled.
and privileged.
and who has no empathy for the other.
who only feels his own pain.
who wishes to regulate my body
and the bodies of women and how people love
to his own religious views.

I cannot get clean now.

Is this the moment that all things change?

Will historians looks back
and say this is when our democracy failed?
or when the second civil war began?
or when the republican party came to an end?
or when the last vestige of faith in our institutions was lost?

I cannot get clean now.
