I suggested a few months ago that there would be some good music coming out soon. All these artists locking themselves away for months with nothing but time to write and record. Here we are.

Sure, there are some lazy artists who are releasing old albums or digging around for live recordings to generate some revenue. I get it. But hats off to those who have made new music.

So I’ve tried to make this weekend a music weekend.

Earlier this month Oceans of Slumber released a wonderful album. I honestly thought it would be my favorite of the year. It didn’t take long. But Cammie’s voice is very strong and the tone of the album is very good.

Instead I’ve been absorbing this new Deftones album. Their best in a long time. It’s heavy. It’s very good.

Greg Puciato from The Dillinger Escape Plan has an album coming out. I’m excited for this.

Currently I’m playing Shabaka and the Ancestors latest album, which I saw came out in May but I have not had a chance to soak it in.

Then there is Mr. Bungle. The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny with a revamped lineup of people who have played with Mike Patton over the years has me pleasantly surprised.
