Disturbingly white it is
To live in these troubling times

But this brilliant and fleeting sliver, this stooge - walks on

So much for my bruised assumptions
Both wondrous and irate
So much for another startling profit - hah
So much for breaking down the gate

Yes, people take aim
Scoff at your own neuroses
And make bold, stupid declarations

That is until.....
Until you find
That certain hell brew
The hell brew of - passion

But, the real thing?
The real thing?

To me it only happens when I'm not so wholesome at the bar
When warm martini's held far too long
Pose a curious mental posture of the moment
And always end in a desperate request - to "visit my room"

They all, remain a background blur of false romance

And so
This superior yet diluted rationality
This stuttering incompetence, this spew
It suits me peculiar

Fore I long for a world without sunglasses
A world in which all are blind - like me

I say, "Royalty for all!"
"And leave celebrity behind!"

Silly me, what was I thinking.
In order to blow off some time,
I surfed this website and came across
What I thought was a thread with some rhyme.

"How cool", I thought, "a simple poem."
"A thought from someone's mind."
The first verse was cool, the second one okay,
But nothing else seemed to rhyme.

Aw well, what the hell?
I've read the thread to bring my new day in.
But once I was done, I had a thought of my own...
"What the hell is this thread saying?"

Within my sublime mind
Rhymes often waste time
They can stifle my thoughts as they climb

I choose to loose
The rhyme as often obtuse
And allow for "the read"
You would choose

As for understanding and meaning
Well that's not so demanding
That's left to the reader

Creativity bound by self-censorship due to audience considerations - well - that's not really creativity at all - now is it?

Critics? I tell ya. They've got their right to do what they do, say what they say - but when all is said and done - they are not the ones who has put their ass on any line. They simply wait until the battle is over and then run down and bayonet the wounded.

Art - it is what it is - to you. Nothing more. Nothing less.

But that is not the point - get it - "that" is not "the point."

The point is that this is a free speech board, a free thought board. And yes a free critque board.

But levity, inanity, hell, even insanity - does not lesson the value of any, that would be any and all - thread or threads.

Seriousness, flaming - whatever - does not necessarily a good thread make.

Pure, unadulterated pointlessness - can make a strong statement - a point in itself.

Nothing can be art - everything can be art. It's all in the eye (or more properly mind) of the beholder.

Argument does not proove intellect. Humor does not proove lack of.
