Distance Relationships!

It's never easy, regardless of where you met your SO.

I tend to be cautious about meeting people that I have met on line if the distance is great.

While on line, little things do the trick. E cards, special words, teh phone calls are lovely and intense.

After touching someone and breathing the same air, those things seem to pale in comparison.

LDR"s haven't worked for me, yet.

The longing gets in the way of the relationship's growth.

For you, eight months will fly by.
The reunion will be fantastic.

Sending thinking of you items, smelly things, all those little gestures mean a lot.

I once clipped a piece of my favorite nightie to send...complete with my perfume.

Another time, I collected brochures and photos of the area I live in to mail. I also sent pictures my children had colored.

Anything that says, "You are in my heart" will make your days pass more quickly and lighter of foot.

:)

I have lots of experoence in this area, the thread that love to read recommended was started by my LDR in her search for answers on how to survive the distance. We met here on LIT
in chat, then continued on both on the BB and in the stories and poems she has submitted.
The main thing is to communicate, communicate everything. When you are apart and cant share in thier world with them, thats all you have.Instant messaging such as AIM save you alot of money over phones since all they cost you is the cost of 2 mikes.Gifts, personal things are very nice, it does wonders to hold something they have held and also something that means alot to them in your hands.Although,it is hard have faith and trust in your partner, you are now not just you,but an us and work on the relationship together not as individuals. We used these ideas and our relationship stayed strong and one week from tomorrow she moves here forever.

Yeah, after reading other people's stories, my tale isn't that bad. I do see her about once a month.

Wow, in one week she moves? Must be exciting!

Don't use yahoo or msn for voice conversations - you depend on their server for it, and it might lag depending on them. Instead, use a PC-to-PC program, best if it has GSM or a better codec. My advice is, go to webattack.com, and do a search for "picophone", it works fine even with 56k.

Good luck :)
